Default Project 2.35

After my 2.1 went bang 3 months ago after 2000 miles at 503bhp, ive now got Stew@ TFS Racing to build me a 2.35 cdb build.

Power wise im aiming the same, 500/500ish would be nice

2.2 block

Turbo wise it made sense to rotate at the same time

MD321V compared to GT30

Have a Hyperflow Monster FMIC to fit aswell and also picked up other parts like bigger rear diffuser, Bride seats and RCM exhaust

RCM Exhaust

And how the Trooper looks at the mo

Will update as much as possible when things change

James

Yeah going fine, no issues with it (it's not an Evo), at the time with afew issues it wasn't worth it but now it's done it's def worth it, I know alot of people get fed up with there builds when they run into issues but it's def worth sticking at it. Don't really get over your way much now but if I get a spare evening I might pop over lol

Rich two years of going to the Ring 4 Scoobs with blown engine's. One in flames at the side of the track on my 1st visit . Bad Build & wrong turbo did for me + some bad luck. Not the cars fault. Im sure if i had the same build on a Scoob it would of been the same story. Anger is only having this build now as his went bang. Was that down to it being a Subaru or a bad build? Anyway glad yours is running well Rich & may it stay that way.

Scoobs and Evo 's go pop as much as each other even in bog standard form, The early evo had crank walk, all scoobs eat bearings (mine did and was 100% standard)

I'm on the fence with both these cars as love scoobs but got a soft spot to own a evo3 at some point,

its just all jap turbo's pulsar's are the same but more weaker lol along with 200sx.

Anger your car does look great tho and the s202 spoiler suits it big time , should be puka when built then..

Another one is the rx7, as soon as a tip goes thats it lol, but got to say its probably one of the easiest engines to rebuild

Stew has all the bits to start the build now and should hopefully be starting next week

Just a couple of pics of me spraying the fmic and the old Hybrid to show difference in size

Weighed both and without the bumper bar the monster weighed slightly less

Never liked the gaps or route of the Hybrid mate

UPDATE

Engines built and ready to drop back in, would have been in but someone forgot to order the gaskets i was suppose to order

Car should be back with me later this week, just need Simon to put a base map on and then to start the running in

Wrapped the headers with a different wrap that you dont need to wet and no itching after

Great stuff mate and enjoy the drive to Plymouth today.

Although i have to agree with Nige, even with a mid-silencer surely its going to get noticed at the Ring barriers with that back pipe?

Roads were clear... less than 4 hours back from Plymouth with no boost is not bad, with fuel stops and on the A303

Fook No lol

Wastegate was to small and held it back, but saying that i was happy with the result

494bhp 450lbs/ft at 1.7 bar on V-power with smaller exhaust housing 63.

So more to improve with bigger wastegate and meth

Now it seams ive made myself ill with lack of food and sleep, had to be helped out of the car when i got home.... not good

So big thanks to Stew and helpers at TFS and Simon/Charlie for all there help at Surrey rolling road today

Night night

James

Safety devices 6 point roll-cage with door bars should be with me in the next few days

The car is going to do the E$$EX Tunnel run and then is coming off the road for the winter

Things to do list

Strip all weight that isnt needed out
Lose most of the stereo gear
Paint inside
Fit Roll-cage

List will grow over the winter

That's a lot of graft!

Should look pretty smart and serve its purpose too!

All sound deadening removed, couldn't believe it was on both skins of the rear doors, they have gone from sounding like a Golf to a classic

Roll cage should be installed for the weekend and my Rotas have gone off to Maggs at Ruislip tyres for a refurb and a change of colour

Nearly ready to start the interior painting soon what will do a lot for the looks, still deciding if to cut the spare wheel well out as I can't be arsed to fabricate another backbox hanger

Will update pics later in the week
