Default would anyone scrap there impreza if headgasket went ??

just wondering as someone in brighton did.i dont no if there on here but thay scrapped a 95000 mile V reg version 5 classic turbo 2000 saloon in mica blue totally standard and tidy. i no as my mate who works for an auto recyling center picked it up and gave £175 for it!
luckily it isnt being broken up as he bought it of his boss but why would you scrap a car like that.

fair point. i hadnt thaught about mum or dad. the car looks to of been looked after.it had 4 new tyres and nearly a full tank of juice. i just cant believe thay would take £175 for it. being version 5 its got crystal lights/4pots/facelift bumper etc.
if you dont want it atleast ebay it or something rather than scrap it.
