Default SES Ring Trip 2019 31/05/19 to 4/06/19

HOTEL IS NOW FULL

Looking at the events going on at the Ring for next year I think the dates for the best Ring access will be from:

Friday 31/5/19 for a four night stay returning on Tuesday 4th June

We will traveling via the Channel tunnel.

Eurotunnel fare at the moment is £132.

Departure 31/05/19 @ 07.50.
Returning 4/06/19 at 17.20

Do not forget if you have low ground clearance or wide a car to book in "over 1.85m"

We are staying here
:

http://www.hohe-acht.com/your-hotel-...-nordschleife/

The hotel also has space for us to store tyres tools etc. in a secure cellar.

I have provisionally booked 11 twin rooms and 5 single rooms,

The room rates this year for a twin room are 68 euros PRPN and 47 euros PRPN for a single occupied room, prices include breakfast.

I will need to receive £50 deposits (per room, and non returnable) by 14th April 2019.

If you are wanting to join us on this trip please put your name on the list.

Well after missing last year's trip, those dates are probably no good for us again. Ellie is on half-term the week before but will need taking to/from school on the Monday/Tuesday.

I guess we'll watch this space and wait for the actual TF calendar to be released, just in case it throws a spanner in the works with E's predicted dates...

We're the same - hoping that it moves to the weekend before over the bank holiday as we can't have the Monday/Tuesday off.

We may come out that week but head over on the Wednesday/Thursday and join up with you Friday evening and Saturday before heading back on the Sunday.

From the 24/5 to the 26th is something called the Nurburgring classic so Ring time is likely to be very limited ??

But as I've said the dates are provisional just trying to gauge interest.
Good response so far

Generally each year sections of the track are renewed.
Hopefully megane corner will loose it's name due to the removal of the bump just after the 5K marker...

It's an abbreviation for touristenfahrten - which means tourist or public driving. Basically, pay per lap, treated as a public toll road - rather than a closed trackday.

Generally each year sections of the track are renewed.
Hopefully megane corner will loose it's name due to the removal of the bump just after the 5K marker...

It will still be a little sketchy braking into it at 160 and apex at 125+ mph the bump on the inside was bloody lethal tho to so many people. I'm glad they have removed it.

I'd like to think all this crap will be sorted before you go but if it does end up going down the no deal route you'll need to take this into account before you go, interesting statement about making a claim against an EU national if you have an accident. This is straight from the UK government and not tabloid scaremongering.

Yeah I'll be trading in my UK licence week after next as I'm making a short trip just before and don't intend on a return until much later in the year.

I have managed to reserve 11 twins and 5 single rooms.

Which means there are 3 twins/singles left.

I will need to receive £50 deposits (per room, and non returnable) by 14th April 2019.

Payments to be sent here: payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk

Hi everyone, I am trying to organise me and a few others to attend on those dates so I might end up going through you E if you’ve booked the whole bloody hotel before I ring Frank

At the mo it’s looking like two definites for me and Paul, and maybe two or three more lads too.
I bet Franks rubbing his Moomin hands together.
If I’m going to the ring this year and I can tie it in with a SES trip, it makes it all the more fun!
For anyone with memory loss, I met you all there last year and thrashed the lot of you round the track on my Hayabusa.....
At least that’s how I remember it.........

I’ll be bringing the car this time, as I’ve decided the bike is just not suitable for that circuit. It isn’t a scoob though, sorry people.
I don’t own one
Has anyone pm’d James and Saff to see if they’re coming, I quite fancy another candle lit date night

There’s many ways to describe Frank - I’m not sure hotelier is the first one that springs to mind!

My Dad (Graeme), might not be bringing a +1 so could potentially swap if necessary. In case it's helpful!

I’m probably going to bring a mountain bike with me as I fancy riding round the track. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? And can you ride all the way round? Thanks.

Looks like it doesn't follow the full circuit, it's actually further and looks like quite a serious ride.

https://www.nuerburgring.de/en/drive...ainbiking.html

Would have thought a mountain bike will certainly help to access some of the more remote parts of the circuit

I am pretty sure you can ride all the way round, I know Scott has walked most of it, you'll be surprised how step some of the gradients are.

I don't know any of our members that have done it before, a bike is always handy if you break down

I've walked pretty much all except the main straight. So biking won't be an issue.

Im sorry guys but going to have to pull out of this
Been off work for 3 months so no overtime. Cannot get any family to look after the kids or the animals either so just not viable for us
I’m so gutted but can’t see the situation changing so will give plenty of notice so the space can be taken by someone else
