Those who have been before will probably have most of this stuff already. For those who have not been before, the below list is invaluable. Most of the items in the "For The Car" section are actually law in Europe, so I would advise that you make sure that you do / have these things arranged.

I'm sure that most of you who have been before will have this stuff, but it's well worth double checking, just in case. Anything that you haven't got can be purchased at places like Halfords.
BLUE are the ones that are Law in Europe! Please remember that the breathalysers are a requirement in France .
But apparently there are no penalties for not having one

The Check List FOR THE CAR

1: Spare Bulb Kit
2: Warning Triangle
3: Hi Visibility Vests (1 for each person in car)
4: Headlight Beam Deflectors (see link below)
5: Fire Extinguisher
6: First Aid Kit

7: Octane Booster (personal choice)
8: Oil (optional but advised)
9: GB Sticker (if you dont have GB on your number plate)
10:Spare Key

12: Crash Helmet (not compulsory)
13: European Insurance & Breakdown Cover (make sure it covers repatriation, just in case)
14: Track insurance (those insured with Keith Micheals, call Moley)
15: Driving License, insurance cert. V5 form and MOT certificate to be carried at all times !
16: Locking wheel nut tool
17: Tyre pressure gauge
18: Breathalyser kit

PERSONAL ITEMS
1: PASSPORT !!
2: Euro Tunnel confirmation e-mail with booking reference and dont forget to register you API http://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/advance...r-information/
3: E 111 (optional additional health insurance)
4: Euro's and debit / credit cards (inform bank that you are away for safety)
5: Mobile Phone & Charger
6: Headache Tablets (trust me)
7: European Plug Adaptor
8: Walkie talkies ? (I will be bring the same 3 or more if I can acquire some)
9: Big bag of cash. Euros.

Those with TOM TOM's down load the shell garages onto your european maps. If you know of anything that need adding to this list, please feel free to add it.

Not long now getting excited !!.

We will be taking the route below.

Just to let you know that in France it is a legal requirement to carry have all your car documents, log book, insurance certificate and mot, in the car with you. If you get stopped by the police in France it's the first thing they will ask for.

HI Ian,

This is just for when on the ring isn't it?

Ive just taken out AA European Breakdown for the 4 days we are out there - but am I right in assuming I need this for actual recovery off the track if needed?

Could you PM me rough costings?

Kind Regards

Ryan

It's not worth taking out ADAC if you've already got AA European cover.

Some people go with ADAC as their primary breakdown cover as ADAC are the only recovery service allowed onto the Nordschleife. If you don't have it and you break down/crash, then ADAC will still attend and recover you to the car park, but they'll charge you for the pleasure (something like 150 euros rings a bell? but i might be wrong).

You then use your normal AA European cover to sort you out from the public car park.

Those with ADAC as their primary breakdown simply don't have to pay the additional circuit recovery fee.

If you haven't already got breakdown/recovery with repatriation I would say definitely go with ADAC "Plus" because they cover on and off the the ring and also in the UK with in the annual fee.

One thing I'd add to the list is glass cleaner, especially as you're going later this year, always nice to be able to see where you're going rather than having a bugs innards smeared all over your windscreen.

Have you not got a Euro Car Parts nearby? Click and collect with whatever voucher code you can find online is usually a lot cheaper than Halfrauds, even if you have a Halfrauds trade card.

Use the click and collect, a lot cheaper than just walking in off the street.

Skip cheap crappy wipers and buy some proper PIAA ones. (buzz Alyn for them, you will not regret the extra money spent.)

That's about how much mine cost on ebay They last a couple of years with the amount of time my scoob goes out in the rain

And for the motorway journey to the ring, rain-x on the windscreen. No wipers needed!

I run the washer bottle rain X on the BM works well, don't think it's quite as good as the Piaa wipers though

Portable BBQ purchased and big enough for at least 22 sausages lol, so of you want a steak, hot dog or vege burger cooked at Brunchen if we have time, etc bring some along

Been dying to buy one for ages

Line it with foil, take oven gloves and a wire brush, job done with tidying it up
