The Bexhill to hastings link road has opened at last..
I have just driven from Bexhill to Hastings, (St Leonards technically) on the new road, I must say I am pleasantly surprised, it even has a National speed limit section. ![]() On the uphill section it even has 2 up 1 down. ![]() But the finish of the road surface is terrible, for a new road it is so bumpy you certainly couldn't put a drink on the dash and not spill it. ![]()

Just come up Queensway traffic was shocking! Backed all the way down to the flyover across Battle Rd. I can see The Ridge and Queensway being the new Bexhill Road? It may of just been a particularly busy night?

It'll take a while for traffic to settle as everyone will be using it after it was announced on the news.

That's due to all those endangered animals, rare plants and protesters they've buried along the length of it.

Early days, but still feel it was a Stupid Idea/design, waste of money, will solve nothing and just move the problem from one place to another and be worse in the other place than it ever was on Bexhill road and destroy yet more green land. It might have been slow going on Bexhill road, but it was always generally moving along. It's currently bumper to bumper static traffic up on Queensway. Hopefully It will settle down once the novelty has worn off, but first hand experience is it's currently a nightmare from the Beuport roundabout up till Queensway roundabout. and past to the A21 link road. |

Agreed with above, hopefully will die down and just half the traffic every where but yes big waste of money considering half to most roads are in poor condition in Hastings!

![]() Hopefully things will be much improved when and if the link road from Queensway to Sedlescombe Road North is built, it has just been approved by the planners. ![]() I have to say though I got home in 12 minutes today which is about 15 mins quicker than my normal journey. The so called link road (formally by-pass) is just a way releasing more building land which will inevitably make things even worse. The origanal bypass route was a much better plan ie. from The Lamb on the marsh road out towards Westfield and then onto Rye, that would have been a proper road.

110 million to move the problem.......more money well spent then.
