Default Fiesta Replacement

I have possibly managed to write of my Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec, 59 plate, petrol, 23,000 miles. Not had an accident in 26 years, so not only is the car looking worse for wear but my ego's dented too

Insurance company initially say a write off, but will confirm.

Looking for suggestions as to what I may replace it with and also what I should expect to get for the car if it is written off, as I have no experience of dealing with motor claims.

The car is a daily low mileage runner, with occasional long distance motorway use. 2 adults + teenage daughter. 10k ish budget.

I have re-read Scott's post about a family car and am open to suggestions

Any bargains out there?

Cheers

Fiesta written off, insurance paid out and just bought a newer model high spec 64 plate Fiesta Titanium X 125 ecoboost. Liz drove it home, so not had chance to play yet, but the short test drive was promising.

Thoughts of the day ....

1. Why do lorry drivers overtake each other on the 2 lane M11, causing long queues?
2. Why do 4x4 drivers think it's OK to constantly try to undertake the scoob on the M25?
3. The scoob covered 220 miles and still has over a 1/4 tank left, which I'm pleased about.

nice. answer to Q2, now i have a 4x4; it costs me so much money in petrol getting to the speed i am going, i not going to slow down for anyone, even if you are a Scoob. and even if i did want to slow down, the brakes are so useless i doubt they will make any difference.
