I'm going to go down to Halfrauds over the weekend and get some lube... ooh err... to try and cure the creaky coilover issue. Some have said white lithium grease and others a silicone based grease as there is rubber contact. Any idea's which is better?. I plan to give them a good clean first as I understand dirt can build up in them, then give them a good spray.

You could do with a full on rubber grease, we use it at work on cars. It's designed specifically for rubber so it won't react and wreck the rubber, can't remember what it's called now but it's red it might even be as simple as 'rubber grease'.
If you havn't done it already let me no as I have some in the garage |

i believe it's the same stuff, just red instead of white. Commandeered some from the father in laws boat supplies while we was on holiday last year

Cheers guys. I've got some white lithium so will try that. Also noticed that bc recommend adjusting the damping always starting from hard then click back to soften, wheras I've been starting from soft. Whether that makes a difference I doubt it but will try the grease and see if it stops the creaking.

Measure from Hard, then back X number of clicks to desired stiffness, (think that's the same for most coil overs)
Hope the lubing goes smoothly ![]() ![]()

I think the same Tim, but at least I know its nothing else and can now be sorted with a quick spray.
