Default No spark on front 2 pots, please help guys.

I'm having a nightmare with my wifes Impreza Sport 97 non turbo. It has no spark on the front 2 cylinders. I've checked the following..
Plugs, Leads, Coil pack, crank sensor, cam sensor, air leaks, i've checked for breakages in the wires to the coil but cant see anything obvious, checked timing marks, all ok. Fault codes are showing nothing when you connect the plugs together, theres no OBD 2 connection so cant check that. Has anyone else got any ideas please as i'm getting close to giving up.

Have you turned it over with the plugs out
To check if there sparking? Swapped plugs around, checked plug gaps etc etc?

Yes mate i have, I've ruled out plugs, leads, coil pack, by doing the usual checks. I hear there may be an ignition amplifier somewhere, have you any idea where or what it looks like.

yes ignition amp is on drivers side inner wing (on the turbo model anyway), square unit..

how have you eliminated the coilpack btw? as I would expect that to be the most likely cause.. or the ecu.

Simon

Hello JGM, I had my friends car here and swapped the coil packs over, with my coil pack on his car it worked fine. And with his good coil pack on my car, it was still not giving off a spark on the front 2 cylinders we even swapped the plugs and leads around with his good coil pack and still no joy.
And for some reason i have nothing on the drivers inner wing. Perhaps as its a non turbo. What about the knock sensor? is that likely to be a possibility?
