Default Info on a Iphone 4

Need a bit of info

My Daughter was given a iphone 4 on contract for christmas by her now Ex-Boyfriend,he took the contract sim back but left her with the phone,only now his own contact has run out so wants the phone he gave my girl back...

Now my question is my Daughter has a PAYG sim in the phone can the ex-boyfriend,block the phone if she wont give it back..

I believe if he knows the IMEI number of the handset then he can request that the phone itself can be blocked rather than the SIM. I think he is unlikely to know the IMEI number although if he still has the original box and any paperwork that came with it then it may be printed on there somewhere.

Trace if he blocks it, it can be unblocked .

If he has the original sim (and hence the mobile number) then he could just contact the supplier and get it blacklisted as a lost phone - the mobile company will have the IMEI details already. Her phone gets blocked, he gets a new one if he's still paying for insurance on the contract....
