Good afternoon all,
I am hoping that you can help me out? I am trying to find the owner of the mint Silver Classic Wagon, whom I was talking to at the Japbash earlier this year. He had a newage steering wheel fitted to his classic and I am very interested in speaking with him. As he said that the airbag was still functional. I have put a newage wheel on my classic and I cannot seem to get the airbag light to clear. I was hoping the gent would be able to help me out, but I do not know the his name. If any body is able to help me out, I would appreciate it. thanks Stew |

Exactly what I thought.
Put the original one back in and the light cleared! Checked the resistance between the pins on the original airbag, it read 1.8 ohms. Checked the newage airbag and the reading was 0??? Can't find anything in my searches to help me resolve this. If the airbag system is looking for a resistance of 1.5+ from the original airbag which works, it is not getting any resistance from the newage one, it will think that one is not connnected! Strange. Would love some input if any one has done this mod? |

I guess its a 2nd hand wheel. If so it sounds like the airbag is duff. It should have a resistance as when a none airbag wheel is fitted u have to fit a resistor to turn the light out. I wouldnt recommend that for you though as you will be running around with a faulty explosive device in front of your face.
