Took a trip up to SRR today to get the scoob tweaked on the rollers,as Simon (JGM) had road mapped it and advised it would be benificial to get it on the rollers.
Met some nice guys and some nice cars today also, hoping to see a couple on here. I am very happy considering my very minor mods consisting of: Apexi Power FC AVCR boost controller FMIC 440 injectors Standard TD05 16G Stainless headers Full Decat Made 336.4BHP and 322ftlb torque A few pics below, The Type R made 390bhp and 385ftlb torque and was mint. The silver classic made over 450bhp if i remember right The wagon never made it on the rollers due to being overfilled with oil, causing oil to blow throughthe IC and out the dump valve, the car itself was really nice. Great to see Simon and Charlie today, thanks guys. Hey they even have a fridge now! C.J thanks for the help with the dump valve blanking, top man. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good figures for 440's mate (0.6BHP more than me
![]() I thought you were running 550's 390BHP one looks like it's being pegged back for something or hitting a mechanical limit somewhere, as peak power is very early and torque takes a dive. |

Scott
yep 440's and Maf maxed out. Am sticking with it as it is now as will be tucked back in garage once I get the new scoob. Steve the wagon was mint, it has coil overs and big aprodrive brakes plus engine mods, full leather interior. Wheels are pants IMO |

Nice results Crowman! How does the car feel in comparison now?
![]() Nothing major, but fuelling and boost seem a tad inconsistent though? What happened with T7 WRX, that curve drops like a stone! ![]()

No plans for any further mods as is only a second car, will be concentrating money on new one ![]() T7 WRX made 370bhp on V power and 391BHP with octane boost added Not sure about the curves, have to hand that one over to JGM to answer. ![]() |

Dont get me started on t7wrx, there is possibly an issue somewhere (cambelt wrong, intercooler leak etc). But turbo runs out of puff at the top so also could just be turbo maxxed. |

Nice result there matey...
Quick question off subject but is it easy to de dumpvalve and does that benifit in any way? From what i herd it shortens the life of the turbo is that true... And does it cause compressor serge, because if it does i love that noise... even though it is bad for the turbo. I tried doing it and i think i did it wrong.

Hi
Dumpvalve gives no benifit to the performance or power. I have never heard of it shortening life of the turbo, have had one on my scoob for 9 years. The truth is you actually get more turbo chatter without a dumpvalve, but of course you get all the woosh witha dumpvalve. If yours is still as your picture then i assume you still have the FMIC, Question is does it have the outlet for the dumpvalve? If so its a doddle to fit |

Sorry matey i am still learning.....
I thought the dumpvalve is there to help stop/cut down the impellor from spooling backwards when you take your foot off the gas... ( well something along those lines lol) causing sterss on the bearings and that... I must have that wrong then... Yes my engine is still the same as in the picture and i only have the standard recurcilating dump valve as i am not so cean on them. I have the outlet for the dumpvalve on the IC pipe that leads to the throttle body. When i tried to de-dumpvalve it last time i had the standard TMIC and just blanked off the pipes but it made no difference, so i am guessing i did it wrong...

I didn't think it was James any way, i just love that turbo chatter...I still got the TD04 on the car at the moment James, need to try and sorce a Oil feed pipe as on the VF it looks as if there conector is different.
Is there any reason why it isn't go for a VF28 or is it just not good in general for any turbo??

From what i could gather from JGM the TD05 is no problem with or without DV but other than that i cant be any help.
Remember shiney dump valves are for looks and good sound effects, as i say 9 years on mine and no probs at all. |
