Any one been to Singapore....places to stay

We're coming back to the UK for a month in September and transiting in Singapore.

On the way back we have a few days there and have no idea of a good place to stay....

[We have stayed before on at the Sentosa Resort but want something in the centre]

Anyone been and can recommend

Orchard hotel on orchard road, this is where work puts me its very good, not sure on price etc though?

As far as my experience went of Singapore was yawn yawn yawn! But i was visiting as a backpacker. Paid 8 quid for a Singapore Sling in Raffles- Woohoo- NOT! The only thing i liked about Singapore was the cleaniness!

Going to look up Orchard Street....

Singapore....not much their but a mate took us to a shabby restaurant [next to an automated water ski machine !!!!!!]. Place had a massive cascade of tanks full of fish, place was fantastic. Was told that most of Singapores business execs went there, funny as place looked a dump.

And no chewing gum...........shot on sight

Will attempt a meet calendar prevailing will be good for a laff.
