Default Favourite and Trusted Detailing Brands

Having never been interested in 'proper' car cleaning until I owned a Scoob I thought it would be interesting to hear what brands and products you guys love and trust. It's a huge industry with companies all over the world developing and creating products to be better then their competitors.

Before owning a black car I hadn't even heard of glazes, sealants, wheels waxes and detailing sprays and over the last year have leant quite a bit about the various products and methods regularly used in the detailing world.

I enjoy spending a Saturday washing and cleaning hour after hour and trying out new products from an array of companies, especially as the car is always filthy from daily use.

Recently I took advantage of a great 20% off Halloween offer on the Auto Finesse website and I have added a few of their products to my collection alongside the Chemical Guys, Poorboys, Menzerna and Gyeon bits I have at my disposal.

I am still just an amateur when it comes to real car detailing, learning as I go, so what sort of things do you guys swear by and love to use, what companies and websites do you regularly go too and what tips and tricks do you hold in your arsenal?

For black cars I have found blackefire products to be excellent. Very easy to use and don't go 'chalky'. Lost touch a bit though as I don't tend to polish the Mercedes as it's leased and goes back soon. The new car will be polished to within an inch of its life again though!! When I see one lol.

Detailing has taken a backseat lately with the Impreza, but I was heavily into it when I had my Audi. Klearkote red moose glaze topped with vics red was an unbeatable combo for me on the misanno red. I still pamper the scoob occasionally c5 on the wheels was a good choice, they still clean up nice months down the line. It's certainly an expensive hobby to partake in though.

I tend to stick to Poorboyz and Chemical guys for day to day waxes, sealant, detailers and dressings.

Menzerna of various grades when I want a bit of cut (I think you get used to how a cetrain brand cuts, so you know how to work it and become reluctant to change).

And Valet Pro for wheels and glass.

Auto finesse and gtecniq are in the cleaning box along with some autoglym, depending on which car i an cleaning. A lot of products that sometime mes are way over priced.

Ron is the man, another valeter mate showed me some trade products which were just as good for fraction of the price, he details some serious motors. The 3m blue clayvtyat Ron sorted a few of us out a while back had been magic, major saving on a really good product.
