not sure on this? possibly a different seller,so dont quote me. but i do remember someone of s'net buying a rebuilt bottom end in add like this and was just all parts that had been put together with all new seals but literally just pistons from one lump, rods from another, only thing new was shells and gaskets!

now i still think the best short block is V7-9 and they do come up at good prices.
i remember when having my bug mapped. jgm telling me there great easy hold 450hp alllllll day.
and price is so much cheaper.

classic + V7-9 sti lump + 6 speed best road scoob going.

Cheers for the info mate, will probably steer clear of these then, was just hoping for a little head start on the build lol, so I'm on the look out for a v7-9 short block, am I right in thinking they are scdb? Also can standard heads be used or do they have to be avcs heads? Never done a engine build before so could be a lot of questions when I start it. Was looking at the 2.1 stroker kits and they aren't to badly priced at the moment at £1500 odd. But then I need to factor in price to get block honed ect.

There all semi closed i belive, you use your heads. cosworth H/G,arp head bolts, new oil and water pumps, cosworth belt
job done, cheapest way to go forged,
ask your self what do you want? big power? what turbo?track?daily driver etc
all these factors will play ball.
if your only thinking 20g, daily car then newage sti short block with above parts would be my choice,

Try Andy Willimas at Williams motorsport. He sells on eBay as WMSRacing.

classic blocks are either early CDB locks or ODB's later - even STi......

only new-age STi's ever had SCDB as std

we carry a massive range of bearings, cranks, seals, rods, etc.
