Default Do you have a loud exhaust?

Hi just wanted to ask if anyone has ever been pulled over/db tested for having an excessive loud exhaust on their Subaru?

Oliver.

nope, never, and mine is probably a little too loud.
I used to use it to do my daily commute to work for 3 yrs going through the blackwall tunnel every weekday too. Had to do site surveys maybe 3 or 4 times a month which involved going round the north and south circulars a lot and still not been pulled over.

In lewisham, they have been stopping cars every few months or so with police further up the road to radio ahead on who to pull over and I have been left alone for some reason

I have an HS 3" afterburner jap exit fitted at the moment, straight through no cats and so on, its quite loud (static tested at 104db) a lot louder than most (the misses hates it! and asks me to switch to the track day exhaust every time I fit it!). But this is nothing next to one or two on here... Not saying any names "Simon.. and RCM Team ICE exhausts..."!

I do however not get any problems, either from neighbours or the police despite hoofing it past them when they are stationary just for fun!

Touchwood, I've had no unwanted attention for mine! (NUR SPEC R... with the odd pop and bang for added fun!) I use the bung on the odd occasion I need it to be a little bit quieter but it's still not that quiet!!

Ultimately, you can be pulled for a loud exhaust.

You just have to hope you get a sensible member of Her Majesty's finest.

My cars have always been quite quiet, but when I had my 350Z the back box joint was buggered and it became very loud! I was followed for miles by a police car. Eventually he pulled me over and we had a chat. It was booked in for a replacement part the next day, so he let me on my way.
