A little advise for anyone looking at getting one.
The ABS plastic HT Auto's type splitter deform over time. Although they may be more resiliant to the odd knock compared to fibreglass, they have issue's. I'm now on my 2nd after 15 months (Sshhh, the 1st in on Nige's car), and both have drooped at the front centre. When 1st fitted both are in near full alignment with the bottom of the bumper protruding in parrallel with the bottom edge of the bumper by an additoinal centimeter or so from left to right. Over time the front/centre droops so when looking from the top centre it no longer protrudes much at all, and is almost in line with the bottom edge of the bumper. I feel the reason being the plastic mould cannot support the weight, therefore bends beyond it's original profile. I may have a look to see if a small metal bracket will help, but I fear that airflow induced by Autobhan's, The Ring and Goodwood over the last couple of weeks have accelerated this latest droop. Maybe Carbon Fibre is the way to go ![]() |

The problem I have is about 5mm ground clearance on the drive. Any droop is eating into this....!!!!!!! I've emailed HT Auto's to see what they say. |

I had a carbon fibre one a few years back, had it on 2 weeks and then nudged a kerb at Argos on Hailsham!
One smashed splitter and £250 down the drain! ![]() I know what you mean about the plastic ones though mate, they are saggier than Martyn's back door! I am thinking of getting another Carbon one. I might see what Saj can come up with at Jap Performance Carbon. |

I may look at a PU covered Fibreglass one then have a word wicked coatings about carbon dipping.

In theory shouldn't a real carbon fibre one be stronger than a fibre glass or plastic one? Was thinking about getting a carbon fibre one myself but though if I catch it on anything (which is probably gonna happen at some point) then it would be a wast of money.
I do like the idea of carbon dipping but it's getting the ink straight on the splitter otherwise it'll look rather odd.

I got my carbon one over a year ago from Revolution and had no problems with it...
Took a little while to arrive, but quality and fitment were good. Will be @ modified live so you can take a look if you want. I think it was about £180 at the time. I'm really carefull with kerbs though ![]()

I fitted one of the GRP ones from Revolution. No problems with sagging as such, but within 3 weeks of putting it on the car I caught it on a cattle grid which fractured it all the way from side to side. Subsequent scuffs here and there in multi-storey car parks have left is in a bit of a sorry state. Glad I didn't go for carbon as I would have been a bit more annoyed with myself if I had buggered it.

Yeah, I had the grp one before my carbon one and it was fine, but like you I knackered it... The idiot at the MOT test center I used didn't help after grounding it badly! Now I've learned and I'm super careful with the carbon one, and use a different MOT tester too! ![]() J.
