I joined a couple of years ago to tag along (Bit of a habit LOL) on a RoRo day at SRR. Luckily you were not there and I was the most powerful P1.

I expect there'll be a meetup at Pease Pottage for those coming from around here, plus maybe one somewhere Kent way for the members from that way. We can then all meet up on route somewhere

Not sure if its best to use M1 or M40/A46/M69, the M1 route is slightly shorter but has a load of roadworks on it. M40 passes Prodrive on the way back if anyone wants to stop for a nose-around and a photo in front of the buildings. Although not sure if it will be getting dark by this point....

M1 is a nightmare at the moment so a very good point Steve. I may potentially not be able to make it as due to a change in jobs and mess up in the new company's payroll I won't be paid until the end of December - and the last pay was September So temporarily no cash!

surely the time we will be going in the morning it won't be a problem. Sim and I did scoobyclinic in 3 hrs with brekkie on route via M1 and that was a weekday.
over to the organisers.....

We've always gone up M1 without issue, theres a coupld of 50 sections but the runs fairly easy.

We have travelled previously to get there for 9am on a weekday, hopefully the weekend run will be the same or a little easier Especially as people can start arriving for 10am.

The meeting on the M1 sounds like a good idea, as mentioned people are travelling from different directions. I would expect a convoy from the Hastings side (probably headed by SilverSurfer) and one from perhaps PPottage as PPP suggested. (we've met at the Copthorne Road Shell on previous occassions) (probably headed by PPP)

Worzel, Crowman and myself are looking at arriving early to help organise things with RCM......... so we will be travelling ahead of the time that the masses need to....

I need to pop over to see P2 on the way home lads. It's only 35 miles out the way and will be a 30 minute visit to see the new front end that has just been fabricated.

It's no where near complete but is getting nearer the paint prepping stages.

Anyone wanting to follow us for a peak at P2 is more than welcome

Not sure who else is coming from Kent but I suggest we meet at the Toddington Services on M1 about 9am (between J11 & J12).

Can everyone update the list with their travel plans so we know who to wait for at the services!

Happy to meet people from Kent/Eastern East Sussex etc... on the way but not sure of any easy stopping points that don't involve a long detour off the route.

Thurrock is the obviouse but when going Anti-Clockwise it's a long drive round to the services

Big Thankyou

to everyone who turned up today

I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the RCM experience.

Massive thanks to Matt, Olly and the whole team at RCM for making us all welcome and for making us all feel at home.

Huge thanks to my co-pilot for the day:rally: was great to have a day out with you mate and good to see you really enjoyed your day

Top day out , at a top place, with top people and members of SES

On todays display, we have some stunning examples of cars within SES (which was mentioned a few times today by various people)

Good news is, Olly would like for us to go up again sometime next year along with the mention of SES accompanying RCM to one of their own events:surprise:

Hope you all enjoyed the Red Snotter story along with the follow up 'sock' story..............

Look forward to the next one

Good to see so many people make the effort just two weeks before Christmas, top job everyone.

Looking forward to getting back up thre for the launch of gobstopper2 and going with the rcm team to one of the events.

Lots of good laughs and great banter throughout the day, always good to catch up with the team and great to see Keith there today. A massive thanks to everyone that attended today, it was great to see you all there and also to put a few new faces to names. Great to see so many of both the P1 & Kent lads there today.

Great purchase by James today too, mmmmmmmmmm carbon

Great time guys and a enjoyable atmosphere throughout the day.

I've had so much stick over the years as being the "idiot" that has spent too much on "A Subaru" when I could have had a GT2 or similar, so it was nice to spend a day with a great bunch that got up off their butts and now realise what it's all about.

RCM's hosting & general presentation is faultless as you all mentioned but it's nothing compared to driving an RCM built car. THAT is the awesome bit !.

By the way the "idiot" often minces GT2's......... no fookin problem

What a fantastic day and a big thanks to those that organsied it. Had a right laugh with different people, this club is in a very good place at the moment.

Thanks to Scott for the pipe and all the advice, you are a top man

Had a great day out with wing man Sim too.

And Ron, I really hadnt got that close to the 'B' up until yesterday. Mate, that is one awesome car and was a pleasure to follow it up to RCM yesterday. It kinda took me back to the Colin McCrae convoy a few years ago with VBH leading the convoy in one of his old rally cars. I does look rather special on the road.

Steve, your so right mate, I followed Ron and Keith all the way back to Uckfield and wow the "B" looks stunning. It's sooooooo wide, the one problem I did have, it's so shiny I was getting dazzled by the reflection of my headlights

It is a long way but, well worth it for a day

It's been worth going on previous trips, just to have work done on the cars todays trip was made even more worthwhile by the people that turned up Everyone was talking, enjoying themselves and making a good day of it........

The journey up and back was no problem and again, enjoyable because of the company. People car sharing made it possible for members who didn't fancy driving to make it up there.........

Think everyone agreed that it was good to see Subarman enjoying himself

We will be going again and i'm sure most if not all who went yesterday will go again, I would go as far as saying more will come next time because of how enjoyable it was for the members that went this time....... think about coming Chris, i'm sure you will enjoy it and see that the travelling is well made up for

Just over half a tank for me (it is a 17 gallon tank though & maybe a little bit less distance to go) although the bloody 50mph sections did help lol

I go away for six weekends a year for car related events and feel that is anuff when I have children at school . if it was a morning or an afternoon then that would be different

I filled up in Tunbridge wells then when i filled up again i got 34 litres in, that was covering 201 miles.
I have just under 3/4 of a tank left, so basically i used aprox 3/4 a tank
Have worked out its actually nearly 26mpg, so not to bad,the scoob felt so much nicer with the very cold air.

That would prove about right Martyn going by the mpg threads I have been involved in on The P1 Woc.

I always use my trips to RCM as a fuel guide as I do the trip so often and I have made it ti RCM on 50% of a tank although the many 50 mph restrictions assisted.

P1's have a 60 Ltr tank.

If I ragged the thing often on the trip things are very different though

Mine too performs much better on cold mornings/days as do many of the other guys with P1's.

Cold damp mornings are the best

I did as well, not sure if they are pointed too high or if its just HIDs in reflector lenses not being quite right, but they are sodding bright! Pointing them downwards can only help tho

I made it there and back (About 290m inc detour to P2) on a tank although I did have to keep slowing down to let Fudge and James catch up on the way back which helped.

They are mega bright, when i put high beam on, its actually seems less bright.

I will get them looked at,as getting flashed all the time is a pain in the butt

Late to reply as ive been so so busy, but yes it was a wicked day and i suppose my first proper meet in my new scoob for quite a few years!

Lovely place to visit and very welcoming from the crew of RCM. top guys

Going up there and back i did a tank of fuel which i didnt think was to bad as we did have a little play here and there.

looking forward to future visits for sure. hopefully with a bit more cash to spare.

LOL Tel. The Woccafellas do drive different to some SES members.

Although Anger did drive like my Grandmother for 98% of the trips to be fair he was nursing a small electronic issue as the car cut out for no reason a few miles after we had left Daz.

Just started the car up and not as bad as I thought. Had a full tank when I left and then put £30 in at the shell garage on the M1 on the way back, and still got half a tank left so reckon i did about a tank and a small bit. Round trip was 340 miles though so not too bad.

About £70 in fuel for me, but was 362 miles.
No hold up's though and M1, A14, M11 on the way back was a good shout as the sun was smack in my face on the M1, so running east accross on the A14 sorted that whilst it set.

I'll have to come up next time - tad over 300 miles for me so easily a tank (plus a drop of oil the way things are going!)!

Yes a good trip and I did 27mpg when I fill up on the way back but did not start with a full tank so prob a little bit better than that but it when down after that. But it's a sign of the times when we talk about mpg instead of saying we did a tank each way

Just worked out the mileage from filling up on the Friday and its.........

377miles to a tank for me

Its better than we get out of the Legacy:rally:

As I said to Keith at the services on the way back, don't care what it gets mpg wise if it needs 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or a full fill up, thats what it gets

All I need to know, is that everytime the car goes to RCM its going to need a tank of fuel Still not enough to put me off keeping the car serviced by them and will be going when the MOT and next service is due, without question Those who have been, will fully understand why.....
