Default Pistonheads Sunday Service, Goodwood - 16th Dec 2012

Just found out about this folks, last Sunday Service of the year nice and local for a lot of us. The list is filling up fast though, so don't hang about....

Quote:

The PistonHeads Sunday Service was sadly missed in November due to all efforts being focussed on BTaP 2012 (if you missed that then shame on you) but we're back in a big way with our end of year Sunday Service.
Shun Christmas shopping, rubbish TV and putting up decorations and instead point your steed towards Goodwood Motor Circuit on Sunday December 16 for our 2012 Grand Finale. We've decided to promote a little earlier than usual as we appreciate you may need to get this in the diaries sooner rather than later with all the fesitivities taking place in mid-December.

Our Goodwood meet was very well attended well-attend last year and we're sure 2012 will be no different as we see out 2012 and wonder what the Sunday Service has in store for 2013. 800 PHer cars can be accommodated on the day but, as with all Sunday Service meets, spaces fill up fast so ensure you get your name down on the calendar to reserve your place.

Parking will be in the paddock and along the circuit straight, with spaces allocated on a first-come first-served basis and we'll be working to our usual format of 'no name, no space' on the gate. Gates open at 09.00 and close at 13.00 as per usual.
For anyone thats not been to a Sunday Service event before, you need to register on Pistonheads.com and sign up to their entry list to be allowed in. There's 800 allowed to this event, but if you miss that, sign up anyway as the reserves list usually moves up quickly closer to the date.

Would have thought you'll both get in, the one at Merc World had about a hundred reserves at one point, yet they were actually just under the maximum numbers by the day.

Thanks for posting on SES Steve - I got my Mrs to add me as I was away and didn't have internet access. There's normally about 150+ drop out and as this one is just before xmas there's normally a good chance of making it onto the list before the day!

Keep checking, apparently it might snow in the middle of next week so could be a lot of expensive RWD cars deciding to stay at home.... also, expect the organisers will send an email out this week reminding people to remove themselves if they can't make it, often see a quick drop after that

Balls! Just checked my race time - I've got an 1130 start so would need to leaveGoodwood by 10 so not really worth it. My place is now up for grabs!

So if Juppy takes Bluebugeye's entry and KartingSteve takes Simon's, does that mean everyone who can make it is ok now?

Just received an email from the organisers:

Quote:
This Sunday we will host the last Sunday Service of the year at the Goodwood Motor Circuit and you are one of the PHers with a reserved space on the day.

A few points to note:

We will open the gates at 09.00
The event will close at 13.00

Food and drink will be available from the Goodwood catering units. Parking is allocated on a first come- first served basis using a portion of the circuit and the paddock area.

Please respect the wishes of our hosts and follow marshal instruction and keep speed to a minimum when on site.

When you arrive please place a printout of the attached logo on the dash so it is visible to the parking marshals and PH staff.

If you can no longer attend this meet please remove yourself from the list as this will release your space for another PHer waiting on the reserve list.

Finally, if you use twitter or instagram we encourage you to submit photos using the #PHSS and we’ll choose a few favourites for a home page article next week.

We look forward to seeing you there

Regards

Paul Garlick

Only just seen this and it's too short a notice for me now I think. Mainly because I thought it was the merc world Sunday service thread being bumped. One day I'll read things properly......one day!

So what's the arrangements for Sunday guys, will it depend on what time you get back from your meal on Saturday night?

Was it the last Pistonheads meet at Goodwood that had us queuing half an hour to get in? Or another event? I know it was because they couldn't use the fields for parking (flooded).

I'd be tempted to say 8am meet at Patcham BP, leave by 8:10am?

There has been roadworks at Sussex pad/ lancing and would of thought need to be there at goodwood around 830? It's the last one of the year so will be busy

Happy with those times.
Can someone lead and dry the roads infront of me from Fri/Sat's forecast rain.

Would have thought you will get with only 37 more to go, looks like a couple of hundred have removed themselves this week.

Looks to be a bit milder too, this week has been chuffing freezing!

You should have received an email,

with the details, also it has an attachment that you should print off and take with you.

They will just ask for your name on the gate (or username if you signed up with that on PH). As a few people haven't had the email, i've uploaded the attachment - just download and print this file:

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...seethrough.JPG

The email content is just as per my earlier post.

Garry Details are below, Bannotynes is just up the road from The Harrow (about 1/2 a mile) towards Battle.

If I'm not at Bannatynes by 7:15 don't wait for me, have the kids so could well be running late, getting a 13 year old out of bed on a Sunday morning isn't the easiest job in the world.

Is anyone else meeting up at Patcham BP or is it just me?

If i'm the only one then i'll go and wait in a layby on the A27 to save you guys all coming off and then back on at Brighton.

I've just managed to get up but my backs not right so i made the right decision as wouldn't of wanted it to imobilise me bigtime whilst taking arty photos.
Shame as i bought a new camera yesterday.

Saw Steves car but by the time I got back to where he was parked he'd left and Juppy was tucking into a bacon roll. Was that Bogg123 having a friendly chat with the Police in Arundel?

Was a lovely morning weather-wise, if a little bit of an early start after last nights meal. Sat in the layby on the A27 until just after 8am and Juppy came past so we convoyed over together from there. Luckily the police at Arundel were busy dealing with a beemer driver so we didn't get stopped. We reckon it was random breathalyser tests, bet a few people drove after a late night/christmas do's on the beers last night.

Saw Shane's car whilst wandering around, and nice to meet you Sam (whats the reason for the username bogg?!). Left about half ten to head back, spent all afternoon fixing little niggles i've found on the mondeo since buying it.

What tyres are you running on?

It makes a change for someone else to have a little chat.
