Very nice and clean looking and the red paint work is gleaming for the age of the car

It does have centre caps on the wheels now, unfortunately its started to go round the rear arches but other than that its lovely inside and out. Not the end of the world if it has to go, I'll find another one if I sort out another job.

Clean low mileage 1-Owner MY2000 Classic in Hastings
http://www.garageonthegreen.com/used...saloon_648.htm

I spoke to the owner of this garage, who also owns the local SEAT dealership, last week, as he know's my fondness for Subaru's. He mentioned he had picked up a MINT Subaru. At the time I thought he was talking about a Newage as he called it a WRX, but it turns out to be a UK classic.

This garage does not have rubbish and it is not his normal age or type of vehilce, but he thought it was so good he would give it a go.
I have not yet seen it personally, but would confidently say it must be pretty clean.

Nige and Tim will also probably confirm that they do stock a good car........

I thought so too, £4k is well into newage territory now

An STI or type r/ra and it'd be justified....

I've seen it. It's very clean. As for price yes a little over priced for the average rusty one. On the other hand try & find a 1 owner classic with 69k genuine on it.

Thats cool nige. I am trying to get over there but am working friday and sat although I am trying to rearrange some stuff for saturday as I'd like to see it.. As you say, it is a little heavy on price but then there are not many originals left like this, so worth paying a bit extra for i think.

If its good I would just be straight with him and say what's its worth to you. I reckon with a bit of haggling he should let it go for 3.5K. He probably picked it up for 2K or less, and only just got it, so a quick turn for him at 3.5K and he should be well happy. Even dealers will do a deal.

Well, there you go. Just shows that a good car will get decent money and still sell quick. Gutted, as I has planned to go over saturday, but didn't due to the snow. Got tomorrow off and thought i would get over there, but its gone

LOL, more a case of lucky ain't buying any old ****! which there is a lot of at the moment. Some peoples idea of a good car just ain't mine. Was a shame about that silver classic though. Seen the type ra, but its not really for me. I know technically its a better car but I would rather have something more original, like the other classic. I am quite enjoying the hunt though at the moment.

Mmmmm... did a bit of research and I think you are right James. Only RA's according to 'the history' are 4 door. 2's are R's. Though he says its unusual and not many made, but then goes on to say 1000, which adds up with 4 door RA's??

Thats alot of power on what sounds like a standard engine.
I was going to say "I would be suprised if Simon remembers the car as he does so many". But he would remember that one running those wheels

When I had mine mapped by JGM recenty I asked him about upgrading mine and he said about a few people he knew who were running that sort of power on standard lumps. Can't be too many so I'd assume he knows the car quite well on that basis......Agree the wheels would help jog the memory!

The Spec C looks a lovely car! The Blob also looks good, running 440 on 20% Meth probably isn't too bad.

Very narrow power band though with 500bhp within 1000rpm. Fun on the quartermile, but nghtmare to live with day to day.. and horrid to drive IMO

Thanks guys, yep, a bit more than i can spend at the moment. Just had a shocker of a tax bill which I half expected , and which is partly why I haven't jumped for a couple of the blobs that had cropped up at the 7/8k mark.

So, saving again, and in the meantime if a tempting classic comes up will look at that.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-Subar...60968283550%26

I know its a fugly and its only a WRX and the mileage is a bit high but i think its a bit of a bargain. Looks very clean and original, FSH. Stick it in Intelligent mode and you'll get well over 30 mpg out of it.
Something to consider anyway.

Cant wait Scott. Its just a small hitch, I WILL be back in one eventually. I have even contemplated selling the Mrs car, passing the golf to her and then either leasing/hp'ing a new STI saloon to use as my main car again. This is what I did with the black one, its just the depreciation that kills me!!!

An easy 360 maybe more depending on quality of the 18g and how far you want to push the boost. Would need to look at a fuel pressure reg to avoid pushing the injectors too hard if you want above 370.
I think cj saw 400 on his wrx with a ported 18g.

I wonder how many times Steve has changed his mind between a good classic and a blob? I feel sorry for him. Having said that I did add to the mix by offering him my T25 a while ago

And I am still changing my mind to this day!!!. At the moment I am not too worried as I wont have the money together until may time anyway so its fun looking. This thread makes me laugh tho, I think it could be a record.

All joking aside though, thank you to you all for keep posting up cars. I know it seems to be taking me forever, but I WILL be back in one soon. Just need things to go in my favour for a change!

So far, each time I think I have the dosh together, something else gets in the way. You really couldn't write it!

First a tax bill, then something cropped up at work that needed cash, and even now I am still getting surprises......... just found out I am going to be a dad again!!!!! TWICE!!!!
