Lucky - How much longer........

...have we got to wait for you to get another scoob.

It's all gone very quiet !!!!!!

I think you need to give us your budget and requirements and we can all help a little. I've lost track as to whether your after a Blob or a Classic.

Be good to have you back ;)

Frenchie 04-12-2012 09:52 PM

I think he's after a classic. He heard me go past his office today and sent me a text to say how much he's missing having a Scoob.

Perhaps we should arrange a massive drive by

Hongkongfooi 04-12-2012 10:34 PM

Steve_PPP 04-12-2012 11:57 PM

simba 05-12-2012 09:05 AM

come on steve treat yourself for christmas

Lucky 05-12-2012 10:55 AM

Well, its very touching to know I'm missed

Life aint the same without one. What with doing stuff to the house, work and christmas coming up, I decided to look again after christmas, although I do look on PH, Ebay and autotrader every day!!.

I do fancy a classic as I've not had one, but saying that, if a clean blob came up at the right money I would be tempted. One thing's for sure though, I will be back in one sooner rather than later.

Been trying to get to some meets as well, but they seem to be clashing with other stuff (mainly work) :-(

Did think about looking at this as its reasonable money and close to me

http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/c...-import/863033

front lights would have to go though i think.

and this:

do like the second one mate the steel blue one bit to chav for you

2nd one steve:ok:

XRS 05-12-2012 07:12 PM

Don't let them rush you into a hasty decision, Steve. You know you want a nice JDM blob really. Best to go for something limited edition too ;)

Scott.T 05-12-2012 07:24 PM

I would never buy a fresh import.
Come with no history and if it does it may be false.
Would rather one that's been in the country a couple of years with good enthusiast service history and documentation.

Scott.T 05-12-2012 07:28 PM

Grey one looks well looked after for a 1994 model, although dash/interior will feel dated.
A good base to start and has been in same hands for 8 yrs.

Anger 05-12-2012 07:38 PM

Agree with Scott... I'm on the lookout for a clean classic myself, but there's a lot of crap out there

Yeah, quite like it. BC coilovers on it, plus the brakes/wheels are a bonus. Easy to change front & rear lights back to standard (and make a bit of profit back via ebay). Low mileage for a '94 car too.

All in for £3k isn't bad...

Greig 05-12-2012 08:12 PM

What's up with the front lights on the grey one?
Looks a good buy that car

Bolesroor 06-12-2012 12:23 AM

Grey one for me and nothing wrong with the lights imo

A JDM Blob is also on the short list, but its whether I want to spend the money. Very tempting tho!

Thats where I am with it. It wont tie up all of my money and will be great to drag out of the garage at weekend, and finally be able to go to meets in a scoob again! Having said that, I would prefer a lat classic with updated interior and front etc, but its finding a good clean one. As Anger said, there is an incredible amount of junk out there, but I suppose they are now 15 odd years old, so finding a good one is more difficult.

Oddly this looks cheap as chips and very original for the money

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...07lh?logcode=p

May well look at this. Bit of wagon fun for £1500.

SUBARMAN 06-12-2012 01:55 PM

Thats what I thought Keith, and to be honest, original is what I want, so I can put my own mark on it. Not sure how easy these are to take up to better power levels, but I am sure a few on here can help with that ;-)

Lucky 06-12-2012 02:47 PM

Yes James, they have made it clear on the ad, which is fine. I suspect it would need a few bits doing, not least colour coding the skirts, but I have a good mate who does all that, so not a problem.

Anger 06-12-2012 02:50 PM

Not cheap to repair a dent like that

Lucky 06-12-2012 03:02 PM

One of my customers cars, I've got it in next week for a few bits.

Lucky 08-12-2012 11:27 AM

well, I've made a decision.

Its going to be a Blob 03 - 05 STI. I need to find one as original as poss, so I can do what I want with it. Really fancy another WR Blue one. My old WRX was WR and I loved it. Loved the black too, but its just too much maintenance for someone fussy!!. Also, as the car wont be used for work it can be as lairy and noisy as I like!!!! I feel a blitz nur spec coming on!!

i recommend you jump back into and try a classic before deciding on a blob.
For me it was one of the best moves i made.
As its also a toy im not worried one bit that the interior is a little dated compared to the later models but the classic seats are oh so much better for those with a slimmer figure like us ;)

I'm loving my rawer feeling classic compared to my old blob wagon, but I still miss it.

Agreed the seats in the classic sti are ten times better, you sit in them rather than on them.

SpecB 22-12-2012 07:35 PM

I had a set of STI 8 seats and went back to 2002 (v7) WRX seats as the v8s were too wide and unsupportive.

steve are the seats deffo wider in the hawk than the blob then(as being of the larger variety), i remember trying the bugeye seats and they was too small for me but the sti 8 seats were fine, but sure when i tried a hawk (was a wrx model though),if i remember they felt really tiny are the sti seats deffo wider then????

They got wider in each shape update. Bugeye were best for the lanky folks (me included, although maybe not after Christmas! ;)), blob got a bit wider and hawkeye were wider again. The hawk sti's i've sat in are less supportive on the sides, don't hold you as well in the corners imo.

Not sure why you found a hawk with narrow seats? Pretty sure there was no different in hawk seat design between wrx/sti other than colour, but someone might be able to correct me on that?

I always found the hawks seats unsupportive and on several occasions nearly changed them. I found the blob seats much better.
