No chance of me returning to Subaru ownership yet

Had my Merc in a garage today, found an air leak with is causing me to lose power apparently. Not bad considering i was keeping up with Emma's type R on sunday

Chunk took some pics yesterday after my mot, hasnt changed alot really mainly new exhaust and destickerd, most of the other stuff has been done to make it run right

Most of the work done so far was to make it run right, had to change:

Headers
Downpipe
Up pipe
Coil packs
Plugs
Temperature sensor

just to get it going, later on i got a 5zigen exhaust and fitted my new stereo and speakers and gave it a general clean. So nothing too major really but now all thats done i can start on the stuff i want to do

Well the scoobs poorly again bloody water pumps packed up so got to replace that also have to do the timming belt and tensioners too so its off the road for a while untill it gets fixed, not too long hopefully lol

So while its been off the road over the past few days ive decided to crack on and start the major bits ive been planning. But whilst i was gathering all the bits together over the past few months mr badbill beat me to it lol

Anyway heres what ive done, its not finished still got the wheels and a few other bits to do and fit but its turned out how i want it so im happy.

Started off doing the bumper then turned out to be the whole car lol so off with the lights and grill and went over the whole car and rubbed down the paint abit.

Masked up the bonnet and just carried on from there really

Lights in and done for the day

Then just carried on with the rest lol

Then got a face lift bonnet from MoleyWRX (massive thanks mate )

Had enough for a bit so put it back together

Now to start on the black, no turning back now really, it looks abit patchy till its fully dry

Once dry touched some bits up and put it back together, heres how it looks now

Still got to do the wheels, put the skirts on and the other spoiler but mainly get it back on the road, i really miss driving it.

Cheers for dropping the bits off Lee and thankyou to Gary for providing them, got to work out how to take them apart now lol

As for the wheels ive got a set of newage ones to go on but not to sure on the colour. Got a few colours in mind but still undecided, was thinking of:

Gloss white

Gloss black

Kawasaki green

Orange

Decissions decissions, anyone fancy doing a photoshop?

Getting there, wont be at japbash unfortunatly due to the water pump packing up but it gives me more time to finish it off i guess, just started on the wheels, bit behind with them thanks to halfords filling the supposed "clear" laquer with cream! dont know wtf's going on with that but the new tins supplied by chunk seem to be fine.

Right bit of an update nothing major really just abit of tidying up.

Cleaned and undersealed the arches
Before:

After:

Cleaned and painted the callipers
Before:

After:

Also painted the shocks, fitted flaps and skirts too

Painted and fitted my new wheels, hopefully will get rid of any rubbing and they look abit better too.

Then once i thought it was all finished i took it off the axle stands and something didnt look quite right

So back up on the stands, wheels off and flaps gone.

This is how it looks now, sorry about the bad pics but they were taken on my phone

I could of moved the flaps up abit but then they would of been near the top of the arch and only about an inch of flap, I know the rear flaps are still in the above pic but i only got around to removing them this morning, ill get some better ones soon just got to do a few more little bits and next up is the water pump.

Well i got the water pump got done yesterday, well in saying me i mean my mate done it and i helped out and did what he told me lol but it was a great learning curve and enjoyed doing it suprisingly

Anyway out with the rad, disconnected numerous hoses, took off the exterior belts etc then the main pully. Actualy all of it came off pretty easily with no hic ups suprisingly. Took off the covers and discovered its actualy got a relativley new timming belt, so thats abit of good news Marked up the timming and undid the tensioner and took the belt off.

Undone the waterpump hoses and unbolted the pump and again came out quite easily.

The offending pump

Discoverd it was leaking from the thermostat and that the pump its self was completly ****ed. It span really freely and was really noisey too.

Nice shini new one

New thermostat, pump and gaskets all sealed and fitted

Put it all back together with only a slight hic up with the timming but got it all sorted and got it timmed up better than when we it started. Filled up all the fluids and started it up.

Should be back on the road soon just got a couple more bits to do. Thought it would be alot harder to do and was worrying me quite abit but i really enjoyed lol sad i know
