No chance of me returning to Subaru ownership yet

Had my Merc in a garage today, found an air leak with is causing me to lose power apparently. Not bad considering i was keeping up with Emma's type R on sunday

AndyWRX 04-05-2010 05:52 PM

Blimey more power shes going to fly :norty: hope its an easy fix, i was very impressed with lees merc on sunday we were going through charlwood in heavy rain and lee still kept up with emmas scoob, hats off to the professor

Chunk 04-05-2010 05:53 PM

Would have been better if i had traction

Be good to see it on the road Andy.

AndyWRX 05-05-2010 11:22 AM

yeah couldn't make it to the last meet because of running issues when cold hopefully when the parts arrive I'll get them on quite quick

AndyWRX 20-06-2010 11:22 AM

Chunk took some pics yesterday after my mot, hasnt changed alot really mainly new exhaust and destickerd, most of the other stuff has been done to make it run right

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...%203/MyRA5.jpg

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...%203/MyRA4.jpg

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...%203/MyRA3.jpg

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...%203/MyRA1.jpg

Most of the work done so far was to make it run right, had to change:

Headers
Downpipe
Up pipe
Coil packs
Plugs
Temperature sensor

just to get it going, later on i got a 5zigen exhaust and fitted my new stereo and speakers and gave it a general clean. So nothing too major really but now all thats done i can start on the stuff i want to do :ninja:

BIG"E" 20-06-2010 11:32 AM

most of the main bits are finished and in the garage, just got the fog lights to do then its the main body, also been in ebay and ordered some of "them" then got to find somewhere to do the main bulky ones

Chunk 26-06-2010 03:04 PM

I'm sure we can find somewhere for them to go. I will show you my plans for when they were going on my scoob. Got some edited pics somewhere. just got to find them

AndyWRX 17-08-2010 05:39 PM

Well the scoobs poorly again :-( bloody water pumps packed up so got to replace that also have to do the timming belt and tensioners too so its off the road for a while untill it gets fixed, not too long hopefully lol

So while its been off the road over the past few days ive decided to crack on and start the major bits ive been planning. But whilst i was gathering all the bits together over the past few months mr badbill beat me to it lol

Anyway heres what ive done, its not finished still got the wheels and a few other bits to do and fit but its turned out how i want it so im happy.

Started off doing the bumper then turned out to be the whole car lol so off with the lights and grill and went over the whole car and rubbed down the paint abit.

Chunk 18-08-2010 12:25 PM

The next bits to be fitted are in my garage at work

AndyWRX 18-08-2010 07:34 PM

Cheers for dropping the bits off Lee and thankyou to Gary for providing them, got to work out how to take them apart now lol

As for the wheels ive got a set of newage ones to go on but not to sure on the colour. Got a few colours in mind but still undecided, was thinking of:

Gloss white

Gloss black

Kawasaki green

Orange

Decissions decissions, anyone fancy doing a photoshop?

Chunk 18-08-2010 09:12 PM

Gloss black!!!

Any other colour will spoil the theme

Sally 01-09-2010 09:53 PM

Loving the new look Andy, Hopefully Ill see it at Japbash!

I do miss it though, its great fun to drive!

Enjoy it :)

AndyWRX 02-09-2010 06:28 PM

Getting there, wont be at japbash unfortunatly due to the water pump packing up :-( but it gives me more time to finish it off i guess, just started on the wheels, bit behind with them thanks to halfords filling the supposed "clear" laquer with cream! dont know wtf's going on with that but the new tins supplied by chunk seem to be fine.

AndyWRX 18-09-2010 06:48 PM

Right bit of an update nothing major really just abit of tidying up.

Cleaned and undersealed the arches
Before:
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...No%203/038.jpg
After:
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...No%203/040.jpg

Cleaned and painted the callipers
Before:
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0372.jpg
After:
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0462.jpg

Also painted the shocks, fitted flaps and skirts too
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0452.jpg
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0282.jpg
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0272.jpg

Painted and fitted my new wheels, hopefully will get rid of any rubbing and they look abit better too.
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0322.jpg

Then once i thought it was all finished i took it off the axle stands and something didnt look quite right :-(
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0592.jpg
So back up on the stands, wheels off and flaps gone.

This is how it looks now, sorry about the bad pics but they were taken on my phone
http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0602.jpg

AndyWRX 18-09-2010 06:49 PM

I could of moved the flaps up abit but then they would of been near the top of the arch and only about an inch of flap, I know the rear flaps are still in the above pic but i only got around to removing them this morning, ill get some better ones soon just got to do a few more little bits and next up is the water pump.

Chunk 18-09-2010 07:22 PM

Looking good mate

Bet you can't wait to get her back one the road

SeanMcKnetic 18-09-2010 08:25 PM

Andy if you still want a change of spoiler I have this sitting around in my shed...

http://crucialweb.net/sean/images/boystoys/spoiler1.jpg

Needs a ruddy good scrub and obviously a respray but I see you have the latter skill nailed already ;)

Cheers for the offer how much you want for it? not quite sure what im doin spoiler wise yet but its deffinatly an option :-)

AndyWRX 27-09-2010 04:47 PM

Well i got the water pump got done yesterday, well in saying me i mean my mate done it and i helped out and did what he told me lol but it was a great learning curve and enjoyed doing it suprisingly :-)

Anyway out with the rad, disconnected numerous hoses, took off the exterior belts etc then the main pully. Actualy all of it came off pretty easily with no hic ups suprisingly. Took off the covers and discovered its actualy got a relativley new timming belt, so thats abit of good news :-) Marked up the timming and undid the tensioner and took the belt off.

http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...203/0052-1.jpg

Undone the waterpump hoses and unbolted the pump and again came out quite easily.

The offending pump

Discoverd it was leaking from the thermostat and that the pump its self was completly ****ed. It span really freely and was really noisey too.

http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0062.jpg

Nice shini new one

http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...%203/007-1.jpg

New thermostat, pump and gaskets all sealed and fitted

http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...%203/010-1.jpg

Put it all back together with only a slight hic up with the timming but got it all sorted and got it timmed up better than when we it started. Filled up all the fluids and started it up.

http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...o%203/0112.jpg

Should be back on the road soon just got a couple more bits to do. Thought it would be alot harder to do and was worrying me quite abit but i really enjoyed lol sad i know

You can have it for £50. It's just sat in the shed doing nothing!
