New Look of my engine
Air Con all gone now
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...fudge/Eng3.jpg Replaced braided hosing to PSF Tank and RCM's new "one piece" Air In pipe just below the K & N. This used to be a 2 part, by now RCM have the moulding for a one piece. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...fudge/Eng2.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...fudge/Eng1.jpg New switches. Map 1 = V Power / Map 2 = 20% Methanol. / On Off switch = Anti Lag http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...e/DSCF2614.jpg The Loud Dial :) http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...dge/Fright.jpg With the car at a stand still, turn switch to "1", Put throttle to floor, (3500 rpm). wait about 5 seconds for WW3 to start then dump the clutch and you are somewhere else very quickly :) Through to "9" which is set at 7500 rpm. These settings are designed to suit different grip levelS that are generated from the under type surface. |
Looking good as always Clive
|
Fantastic stuff mate. Love it:yeah:
|
That looks stunning
Love for mine to look like that |
As always, looks the absolute dogs.:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
|
Have you driven it yet Clive as i'd like to know how much difference the meth mix has made
Did RCM also sort the oil cooler & fuel supply problems |
Is that SimTek or Solaris you are running mr fudge?
My switches are in the center console. But I only have one on and off one for launch control which dials in 4000rpm - quite intersted to see you dial thingy :) |

Hi Gramps.
Firstly Brighton, Gramps is correct, it's the Motec 800. I have not driven it on Meths yet mate. I will do sometime this week. Just need to use half a tank of V Power I have left then the Meths will go in double quick :) I will let you know. |
nice one!
been on a dyno yet? |

Dangerous to assume :) |

yes ;) which reminds me I need to fill my cans :)
|
looks awesome a bit cleaner and quicker than my old p1:doubleup:
|
Hi Jolly.
Will be getting power figures shortly. I guess you mean take the meths with you to the Shell garage. pour in 10 Ltrs then fill up with V Power? You had any dealings with mapping of 20% mate ? and if so what power increases have you seen from 20% Meths.? |
looks awesome!

put the meth in first at filling station (if you get asked just say using up old fuel).. had the question a few times.. that way it mixes as you fill with vpower. usually 20~30bhp.. depends on whether the engine is ignition limited or not already. Simon |
I think i speak for everyone else when i say WOW........
|

The mapping achieved an additional 5 degrees of ignition Jolly. |
30bhp roughly then ;)

Oh, is that all Simon :( was hoping for a bit more than that? |
How many times am I going to say it, WOW:shock: nicest P1 ever:nod:
Forgive the possibly stupid question, with the meth mix in the fuel it means that you are running the map for 20% at all times!, or would filling up with v power and switching to the appropriate map not cause any issues, obviously some meth mix would remain. would going for a meth injection kit not give you more control over when you run v/power and or meth? (hope that makes sense) with a seperate meth bottle/tank for the injection system, would also enable you to stretch the meth with a distilled water mix, something which you obviously cannot do with the main tank system. Also with meth injection comes increased cooling, again giving increase in power, however nominal, does the characteristic of the 20% meth mix by mixing in the main tank provide the added benefit of a cooler combustion also? 30bhp sounds reasonable for 20%, out of interest what figures were you expecting? |
Thanks for the nice comments guys.
Mr X. Simon (Jollygreen) will give you the tech bit :) When I run on V Power only I keep the Map 1 switch on. If I have any % of Methanol in the tank Map 1 will still be ok. With a 20% mix I need to switch to Map 2. With Map 2 selected running V Power only is a no no and could cause damage to pistons. Mixing Meths in one tank I imagine would produce a cooler combustion throughout? |
looks good mate, hopefully ill get mine like that one day, did you polish up the inlet manifold yourself?
|
That is just pure p0rn

It's not a show car that is locked up between shows I use it as my everyday car. Never won a thing :( The cars that win are generally very rarely used, however I don't do it for prizes, I do it for me :) I clean the engine twice a week (every bit I can reach) taking about 2 hrs per. Autosol on metal, Autoglym Engine cleaner (water based) is really good for cleaning oil and muck off most parts. I never clean a warm engine, or never jet wash the engine. |

thats some dedication, especially during cold winter evenings in the garage! |
only example I can find at the moment..
top line is on meth 10% (but gains to 20% is not going to be massive) and bottom line is just vpower http://images.fotopic.net/1yf7dz.jpg pretty much 20bhp and 20lb everywhere once on boost. Simon |
Simon
Sorry to hijack this thread with something different by the way. Are you at SRR tomorrow? If so, are there any slots? Steve |

See you tomorrow then young sir. :norty: |

Ok thanks for that Simon.
I have just filled the car with 20% and given it a quick blip down a straight and there was a little difference. Nothing to write home about though. |
