Water pipe that leads nowhere? Has a rubber stopper on (which perished)
 

Identification please

What's this pipe for? It was leaking through a perished rubber stopper, it sits on a pipe protruding from near the dipstick to the right of the alternator, here are some photos:.

Had to borrow one off my SORN'd gc8 wagon as one on my bug wagon was perished on top

I'm now in need of another one because my classic wagon is now without one
