Squadron equipment..........there's tons of it. Much is still on the secret list, but here's a few items! Note the camufligator bag (top left) into which all the equipment fits easily!

Another view of the Camufligator Bag, as used by F Off Simpleton. Notice he is dressed in ceremonial uniform. No idea why!

The Squadron marketing dept are offering limited edition "555 socks and pants" sets to the general public. Both socks come with "left bias" fully incorporated!

After a mission, there is nothing better than putting on a Squadron "relaxing hat" !

Special equipment for ordering pilots into formation - a bullhorn (with special features) and an orientation paddle.

"The Big Weapon" - least said about this the better! Only pilots wearing the proper ID badge, like F Off Simpleton here, can handle it!!!

Oh yes! And on Ebay you can still find examples of this Krud Simpleton doll, holding a "Big Weapon".

A group of Pilots with scarves - no pilot goes on a mission without one of these neck-warming essentials!

Special "sunray and precipitation rerouting equipment" in full deployment mode

Squadron number plates

Missiles..... obviously !

Pilots testing the long-range capabilities of the Squadron walkie-talkie system

The Nitro Pulsar Lux intuitive helmet - more than just a helmet! It has auto-vector co-ordination, compu-trajectory imaging, latent voice technology (inbuilt), and pre-task adjustment.

Pilots of the Sector Black Stealth Flight carry hand weapons. They look quite dandy when worn with a tight-fitting G-suit and intuitive helmet!! Cor !!!!

The Squadron Leader grasping his baton - a piece of equipment to be held only by him!

Fl Lt "Buzz" Blaber demonstrates that this waft-wand has a hundred Squadron uses!

A multi-use surveillance device

Fl Lt "Buzz" Blaber undergoing secret testing of a special flying helmet, featuring Rizz Telemetry and G-force Nullifying Technology, never before combined in a helmet!

And now a few shots of secret equipment being "pilot evaluated" in the Squadron Leader's kitchen, as the Pilot's Mess was in use for pensioner's bingo at the time.

The pilots don't go hungry whilst evaluating secret equipment !!

Right then, that's enough equipment for now!!!

Examples of saluting:

This one occurs while pilots are wearing special top secret "gamma glasses"

This salute is performed just prior to a Squadron Hug - note how the hands fall from the vertical to the horizontal, as if by magic!!

A long-distance salute, known as "the gay wave"!

The "left-knee forward salute" - still being practised by some!

Oh dear - some of the pilots need to practice their saluting - good job this was a practice!! Pt Off "Smiler" Miles on the left needs some distance co-ordination learning!!

Tactical Mayhem Team learn to salute as well!

The parade salute

The "look at us we are in a line" confirmation salute. Note the Squadron Press Office operative taking a pic for the national dailies!

The one-legged smiling salute - very popular with the crowds at Squadron displays!!

Saluting the Squadron flag - VERY important! Note the H&S requirement for the flag bearer to wear suitable head protection!

Saluting can even take place in wet conditions!!!

In the secret hangar, F Off Simpleton performs a very fine salute, preparing for "Wagon and Pilot" inspection, prior to admission of his wagon onto the dispersal platform

The "synchronised tailgate lift" wagon salute

The "co-ordinated wing mirror salute"

The "rear guard of honour" salute, with help from one of the Scoobabes in her STI bikini outfit. More of the Scoobabes in a later post.....oh yes!

Right........enough of the salutes or we'll be here all day!........What's next?

Squadron displays

Two views of "Delta Formation"

Two views of "Vulcan Delta Formation"

A real Vulcan "Delta Formation"

Yes - another one, but on a runway.......sort of.........

The crowd often request this formation! Here we are at Japbash, with tailgates high!

Formation Echelon Parking (note the experimental exhaust drift compactor on trial!!!)

Synchronised "Wagon Water" drinking....in formation

Synchronised brake chute deployment - always popular with the crowds!

Synchronised missile display

The "synchronised tailgate lift" formation

The echelon slant formation, new for 2007!

The Squadron perform the "Snake Split Speed Combo". Hard to believe they are travelling at exactly 130mph!
Imagine the massive g-forces pulsing through their tight outfits!
(Refer here to the special G-suit available to female pilots [previous post], and let your imagination run wild)!

The Squadron prepare for the "synchro take-off!!!

The Squadron perform a complicated "peel-off" - in formation of course!

Yes - the Squadron are all about tight formations!!! What's next?

Other stuff

Pt Off "Smiler" Miles powers away on a mission!!!! Note front panel battle damage!

Cooking quiche

Deep within a secret hangar on the Squadron base, three wagons undergo "routine mission preparations" - all very secret stuff!!

Hanging from the tailgate - popular with the crowds!!

A convoy of silver wagons patrols the seafront looking for Mitsubishi insurgents!!

The crowds soon throng to applaud the wagon patrol!
A smartly dressed F Off Simpleton (why not in uniform, then?)acknowledges their adulation.
(It was a very special patrol, obviously!) Hurrah !!

Johnny Bonkers examines his equipment.

Chocks Chockington gets presented with his chocks!!!!

Wagons at dispersal

Winning a best club stand award

Another "best club display" trophy!

A proud Squadron Leader performs the familiar task

The exclusive "portable trophy tray", not available from Argos.

Pilots relaxing in the Officers Mess

The Squadron Leader blows up a balloon using another piece of highly technical Squadron equipment!!!

Here we see some pilots performing a "Tailgate Cloaking Technique".
Each member of the team must have complete trust in the others during the course of the routine!!!
Particularly the two "crouchers" within the team!!

Here, they perform "collective cogetation" on a job well done!

Squadron HQ in New York - Yes! The black and yellow building!

Pilot's publicity pose - Pilot Officer "Washout" Windust cuts a fine dash!

Another, less dashing, but with the "relaxing hat" on

Another publicity photo - entitled "after the mission"

Squadron signalling - Pt Off "Stealthy" Mitchell uses his sunglasses as part of a "no-hands" signalling technique!!

Another cream tea for the pilots

Pilots practice hiding

A sworn Squadron enemy, a Mitsubishi warrior, captured during a raid on one of our secret bases!!

After an hour with the Tactical Mayhem Team, he's not so funny, is he?

Planning a sortie

Pilot training

Pilots on standby outside the Squadron Mess

At shows, pilots often hand out Wagon Wheels (of course) and ginger beer to fans and worshippers.
Oh, and "future pilot" stickers for the kids (Squadron Wannabees).

In response to requests from an adoring crowd, the pilots perform an upbeat "YMCA" routine!

Squadron Spec Sheets

Wagons on the taxi-way, waiting for the jumbo to clear before performing a synchronised take-off!

Here they go, settling into position!

And away they go! HURRAH!!!!!

Senior Formation Manoeuvre Technician............. gives the green light for a scramble!!!

Formed from members of the popular Wagonettes, The SCOOBABES All-wheel-drive Dance & Modelling Troop support the Squadron at events up and down the country. The Scoobabes "encourage" the Squadron pilots at events by performing complex disco-dance routines, coupled with lots of shouting and energetic thrusting of pom poms!

Here we see one of the troop outside their headquarters. Note the Squadron colours used to identify the building as their gymnasium/beauty parlour.

Just as the Squadron has it's formation parking routines, so the Troop complement these with their own stunning backflips and quasi-synchro-bounding blasts !!!!!

Here we see part of the "tailgate flip" routine.

Here we see two of the girls relaxing during a break from the onerous practicing. Note one of the off-duty pilots stops off for a chat!

Phew!! Time for a sit down with a currant bun and a ginger beer, me thinks........or perhaps a bottle of Wagon Water and a Wagon Wheel!
