Default SES @ The Supercar Event - Dunsfold Sunday 22nd June

Supercar Event - Dunsfold (Top Gear Track), Sunday 22nd June

SES will be attending 'The Supercar Event' for the 1st time in 2 years in an official capacity on the Sunday of this 2 day event. A small number of members still attended in 2012/2013, but this year we intend to return officially.

For more details see below :

http://www.thesupercarevent.com/index.php/2014-event

ABOUT THE SUPERCAR EVENT
Now in its 8th great year, the event formerly known as ‘Dads Day Out’ is a weekend supercar extravaganza with something for everyone. Last year's event was a resounding success full of exciting events and record visitor numbers.
Held at Dunsfold Park, The Supercar Event is already shaping up to be the highlight of the 2014 Calendar, as in previous years all the revenue is paid directly to The Children's Trust charity.

Where else can you pick from a list of the majority of the greatest supercars ever made and then be driven around at speed at the track where the McLaren MP4 was developed, Michael Schumacher dressed up in white overalls and a chap with frizzy hair declared he was an alien whilst driving a car made out of scaffolding?
If you get time, why not try out the helicopter, hovercraft, Segway or mini tank rides? Try some paintballing or get your face painted (yes, we know the kids made you do it), grab some food and listen to the live bands.
The team are already hard at work for 2014's event. We are all looking forward to presenting you with the best weekend you could wish for.

Attendee's :
(Payment details, as a group, will be provided nearer the time)

1. SilverSurfer + Olly.T & Sammy.T
2. BIG"E"

Unfortunately as much as we love our scoobs, the rides are slightly more exotic than we can manage..... think Lambo, Ferrari, R8s, Zondas etc

SES will have a static display stand

O.K I now have prices and payment method for car club attendees.
Cost is £15 per car including 2 occupants.
Additional occupants will pay £13.20 (Adult) £8.80 (Child under 16).

If you are bringing the family then the family ticket 2 adults 2 children under 16 is the better option at £31.00.
Supercar rides start at £31.50

Payments to be made individually via the above link.
If you need the car club code for the £15 entry (car +2 persons) send me a PM otherwise use the individual or family ticlet option (no code required).

Has there been any fallout from the event last weekend? Its big news around here as it caused 12 mile tail backs, lots of mud slinging, and fingers pointed at Dunsfold for very bad organisation. Rumours of big events being cancelled!

It was a classic car meet that's been going for years called Wheels Day. They were expecting 6000, and something like 18000 turned up. People were queuing for hours to get in, only to be turned away by the marshals.

AS you can imagine, its only small villages that surround Dunsfold, so it caused a bit of a kerfuffle.

Its certainly never been a problem the previous two times we've attended this event as a club, as we go in before the gates open to the public. No idea how bad the queues were after that though.

Would have thought they'd have a system sorted to get people in and parked quickly by now - they run Wings & Wheels there for quite a while and that must get a huge crowd.

Car Club Discount Code is : CARSSS (this gets car + 2 in for £15)
Note : This is supposed to be a exclusive code for car club's but if groupon (see below) gets you in cheaper then fair gaime

Cheaper ticket's at £12 (thanks Greg) particularly for families (£15) are available here (limited time only) : http://m.groupon.co.uk/deals/events/gl-the-supercar-event/39277486

I've got no idea how they are controlling number's as nobody seems to want to know what clubs are coming and how many attendee's.

Blimey, so its cheaper to get in as a member of the public using the Groupon voucher than it is for the club members attending who are helping to be part of the event?

It might be worth everyone on the list confirming they still plan to attend before people pay for tickets, as the list on here is quite old and people may have changed their minds.

I would rather that than a few people pay only to find there's only a handful still planning on going.... ?

The event will go ahead but questionable whether ses will have an official stand or just park with jo public at a more reasonable hour for the same price or cheaper.

Lets hope they respond soon so we know what we will all do.
