still building a replacement track car after my last track outing last year at Goodwood, so I'm out for the moment.

Maybe after the Nurburg trip us mods will get together to see a Brands track evening or something similar can be organised for SES. Good way to get introduced to track days.

As Simon says, we're off to the Nurburgring in a few weeks so it wouldn't be in the next month.

We've done Brands and Goodwood trackdays in the past several times, but Goodwood tends to be linked with other charity events etc due to cost of booking direct. Brands has a few options though. The cheapest way of having a go is either through an MSV novice session or something like this:
http://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/cale...h-roadeve.aspx

Or via Opentrack (which includes tuition on a first come, first served basis if you want it)
http://opentrack.co.uk/epages/8f6001...July%202016%22

Quite fancy somewhere different like Bedford personally....

I do fancy getting mine back on the track this year as well, assuming all goes well with the mapping and I can get the oil cooler back on!

If there's enough interest for Brands we can certainly sort something, its been a couple of years since we did a trackday there as a club.

I'd love to do a day at Brands, having never driven it before, but I'd be happy with any circuits to blast around. Not done anything other then Goodwood and Nurburgring, and the ring is no track day.

Never been on brands but been to plenty of track days there.
It always look's far to busy, serious and corporate to me hence in no rush to try it.

Have you been in the last year? Twice as bad nowadays.

It's a real shame as Brands is a cracking track, but it does seem recently like they are trying to squeeze too many cars into the day.

Also, driving standards are pretty shocking. I'll only go on with fellow owners club members as the driving on the Opentrack day I did a while ago was awful. Took 2 hours to get on track due to red flags, one car even rolled on the sighting lap behind the safety car!

If we could get an exclusive session i'd jump at the chance though

If SES members could commit to driving up to Blighton I would try and arrange.
This is the track used by Evo etc for magazine tests.

Be good to do a couple if we can after Germany, I enjoyed the last trackday we did at brands, watching one or two on here spinning off at paddock in my review is a dear memory . I enjoy goodwood but would be happy to visit other places quite like the idea of cadwell, Anglesea, and I'm going to try to do Donington Also.

Thanks for the feedback Gary - that's a shame... last one we did as a club at Brands was in summer 2013 where it started off in monsoon conditions. That seemed fairly quiet on track but it might have had something to do with the weather conditions!

It really is pot luck when you make a booking I guess.

Blyton's a long trek though, its up Sheffield way isn't it?

Donnington, Cadwell, Castle Coombe, Bedford, Mallory, Snetterton all closer. Shame there's no trackday availability at Thruxton as that looks awesome

Im up for doing any track so long as its a club day for reason mentioned above. Tagged along with mates to a few days at brands and goodwood but always seems very busy.

So if anything could be organised put my name down

Did those plus a little extra in 2012 as a 40th birthday present, hope you don't have any loose fillings when you're in the Formula Renault

I've done brands Indy twice in the last 6 weeks. I didn't find it overly busy and the majority of the cars were pretty decent, my wrx was definitely one of the cheapest there. Both times were open pit lane, and yes, there were a few 'offs' but nothing major and quickly sorted. Looking forward to the next one.

I've never done a track before but would be really keen. brands is only 15 mins from me.

Would be a tad nervous though, hopefully I could opt to have a couple of laps with a tutor

What's the basics required? Am I going to need a spare set of tyres, obv helmet I guess etc....?

What's required.... you, and a road legal car. Oh, and an exhaust that passes whatever noise limit is being enforced on the day.

Tyres - whatever you like, road tyres fine for a first track day. Helmets can be rented for the day from most circuits as well.

Best to go out as a passenger and if possibke befire the day you go, that way you can get a feel for the day, or you could do a 20 mins taster session at brands as they dothen some evenings.
