Sat nav update

My sat nav system is missing a few new roads and roundabouts and I was thinking to try and update it. Anybody know how to do this and if it is free? Thanks.

You'll struggle in the UK Terry. Most of your era didn't come with Nav in the UK market.

Thanks Scott,didn't know that. The STi in France came fully loaded with every available option as standard.

Manufacturers usually charge through the nose for updates, it's a bit like printer ink, I managed to get updates for my old Civic satnav via the internet, used to come up with a message in Polish on start up. If you find out what navigation system it's running in the background you may be able to get something direct but I expect Subaru have done something to make you have to get it from them.
Once upon a time satnav was a selling point, now with Apple Car Play and Android Auto capable of mirroring your phone display on the car display you can run Waze or Google Maps with free updates and live traffic.
