Might be wrong, but isn't the vf48 more matched to the 2.5l engine with AVCS on intake and exit ?

I'm probably wrong but in sure I've read that people have had decent results off of these when put on 2.0 Sti's. Think they are a 2.5 turbo from the Hawkeye's?!

Sorry for late response, A few years back now I had an almost brand new vf48 on my old STi v4 wagon.
It was a very nice turbo, made 333bhp/312lb/ft on the standard injectors at 1.40 bar (2.0 standard engine) with 2.5" exhaust and a FMIC there was more to be had from the turbo but my tired old 86k miles engine didn't want to give it, some larger injectors might have helped a bit, they where pegged with an FPR giving an extra bar of pressure. A harvey smith up-pipe helped alot with spool, 1bar was made at 2850rpm If memory serves. It went very well the turbo was far more linear the vf24 that it replaced.

v48 is similiar is size to a TD05 18g so whilst not as "spooly" as the more normal VF's it will work fine for higher power targets.........

VF 34/35 works better on the WRX.
