Cool Ring 2011 Update

Right then folks. I have e-mailed Jacquline this afternoon to get full details for the trip next year. I have asked her to let me know exactly how many rooms we can have and what configuration they are & the cost per room, per night.

I have also told her that I am going to insist on a 30% deposit on the rooms, which should be in the region of £50 - £60, which will be NON RETURNABLE under any circumstance. The deposit will be payable into the SES Paypal account and forwarded to her by us (Scott to be precise). By doing this, we will hopefully not get any time wasters taking up spaces on the list. Your name will only be confirmed on the list when the deposit has been received.

When adding your names to the list, can you please add your full names & forum user names. This will save the debacle we had (entirely my fault) on arrival at the Hotel last year.

I will start the proper & official thread for the trip some time in January 2011, so please keep your eyes open for this going up.

My apologies if this thread sounds a bit unfriendly or officious. It is not meant to be at all, I just want everyone to know where we stand BEFORE we start getting the list started properly in the New Year.

Understand the deposit steve, no problem. Are we able if possible to ask for a twin room at the back of the hotel if one is available please?

Sounds good Steve, and thanks for once again taking on the organisation of the trip.

Just a thought?

To reduce the costs,

Seeing as next years trip will be the third in consecutive years can we not negotiate some form of discount from the Hotel, rather than paying the list price?

the first year it cost, 68euros prpn this year was 72 euros prpn, the petrol will be higher next year.

I thought this was the thread and its a sticky ;http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ead.php?t=6130

or is this now null and void .

Count me in.

ps. sorry Mr.Worzel.

I kind of understand where you are coming from, but I think it would not be something we should be pushing for. We all know how good it is there, especially when other people have stayed elsewhere and visited us. They have told us how good it is. The other places around are pretty much the same price but nowhere near as good.

And she turned down a wedding to host us that weekend. Mainly down to the amount of beer she probably sells

With regards the other list, if you read it, it does state that that one is to gauge interest and that a new list will go up in the New Year. Peoples circumstances have changed a lot in the time since that list was posted, so it allows for this kind of thing and for people who have just changed their minds. It also means that when we get this list up, deposits taken etc, we have got a definitive list for both Jacqueline and for ferry booking.

What's the sorry for BTW?

Steve

I do appreciate the hotel is 1st class, and as I have said will be going again.

But in this time where money is tight (well for me it is)
it perhaps would not hurt to ask for a little discount,I dont think it would upset Jacqueline, she can always say no.

Just supposing God forbid someones car went bang a week before departure or another unforeseen situation beyond the control of the person going would the deposit still be lost?

I know where you're coming from regarding discount, but I agree with Steve here. Its not likely to be a great amount (i'd guess maybe a fiver a night so less than £20 saved) and its not worth making Jacqueline think we're not already grateful - for the saving, i don't think its worth leaving that negative vibe.

I think the cost of the hotel isn't actually bad (about £60/night in good old sterling). Its the beers and fuel that made it expensive last year - but hey, thats half the fun of it

Hopefully that won't happen of course.

I would imagine that the refund would still be lost unless:
- that person still comes along in another car (i'd do this if it was me!)
- there is a standby list and someone takes the room reservation.
