Default Cold air induction kit - please help

Hi
I am looking to make my 2.5 WRX a little louder as it is very quiet and have been told to replace the air induction kit. I have been looking around and there are lots of different prices so I am unsure what is good and what I should avoid. Can any one help please?

I looked on ebay and found the following. Not sure if you can view the link and let me know if this kit would be ok please? Thanks

A snorkusectomy is probably a good idea too.....as the Snorkus does it's job of quietening rather well.

This is what comes out of a Forester for example:

I would not change it at all, It will hurt performance in a bad way. I ran the air box on mine right upto 400bhp before having to replace it due to Front mount inter cooler. If I could I will still run it!

You would be better off saving and changing the backbox/exhaust system fully. you can get away without a re-map changing just the backbox, changing the downpipe/ cats etc will require a re-map. getting an STI up-pipe to replace the existing WRX one is also a step in the right direction

Exhaust noise is better than induction noise anyway

Thanks.

I would rather not re-map the car, so I should look into replacing the exhaust back box then?

Should I be looking for anything in particular (Sorry, very blonde lol)

If you have a new age and can wait a month I will have a standard 2.5" piped 5" backbox for sale when my new system gets fitted

Thanks. I have an Impreza WRX 2.5L (2006) Hawkeye if that helps.

I am in no rush, so can wait. Would that make my car sound nice?

Thanks

I would stay away from an inducton kit then, as it can lead to running rich or lean. My 2.5 ran rich until it was remapped.
