Default The Supercar Event 2013 - Sat June 15th and Sun June 16th

The Supercar Event June 15th and 16th 2013.

The one you’ve all been waiting for (well at least we hope you have!)

The event formerly known as ‘Dads Day Out’ is a 2 day supercar extravaganza with something for everyone. We’ve continued building on the success of the two day event in 2012 and added a whole host of extra fun events for you to enjoy.

The website tells you all you need to know but we like making things easy, so a brief précis as follows...

Supercar rides, Helicopter rides, Caterham drift rides, The Sporting Bears, live bands (with some special guests in the pipeline) Hovercraft, Autosolo, a vast array of stands and stalls, children’s entertainment and much much more. It’s a 2 day petrolhead playground!

As before we’re inviting selected car clubs to join in with the event. We’re aware that in previous years, being in the car club area just meant discounted entry and parking a bit closer to the event arena. However we’ve further improved on the changes we made in 2012. You still get discounted entry and you still get to be closer to the event than the general public.

In addition to that, the Sporting Bears have reiterated their agreement from 2012 that car club members can join their exclusive group and give rides in their own car along the pre selected Sporting Bears Route (not on the supercar ride circuit)

Car Club tickets cost £10 per car per day.

This Includes up to 4 people in the car and your ticket is valid on either the Saturday and Sunday.
Yes, you read that right, £10 gets you, 3 friends, the car into the event on either day.

There’s also the option of a weekend car club ticket at £15

The only catch is that we would like you to be there by 8.30am and for the sake of people coming to the show we’d prefer you to stay all day. We’re aware that one or two may leave due to unforeseen circumstances so we’re not citing health and safety as a shackle to keep you there, we’re not that sort of people.

So we’ll be straight, the car club display is an important aspect of the event for those visiting. It may look great in the morning but if 50% are gone by 2pm then the area looks pretty ragged for visitors. Having said that, there’s lots to do.....so you won’t notice how fast the time goes.

As a further benefit, New for 2013 we are introducing an ‘Early bird special’. For the first hour (between 9am and 10am each day) the Supercar and Fast Track rides have been reduced by £5 each. As you guys will be in pole position, it’s effectively giving you the a discounted ride at a time when you’ll be around, the public are still arriving and the cars are fresh. You can’t say we don’t look after you!

Finally, this link is only valid for car club display cars, we’re giving you guys a good deal because you help to enhance the event for the public. You’re being charged because it’s a charity fundraising event and we need to cover costs, those who have been before will be aware that £10 is serious value for money.

We’d also ask you under the ‘honour‘ system not to pass the link on to people to save them money on entry if they’re not part of the display. Once again, we’re honest enough to say it’s simply down to the fact that we’re putting on a show and that costs us, we need to raise funds for the charity and normal entry costs are not in the least bit extortionate. So please, keep this link to yourself but pass on details of the main site and encourage your friends to come and visit the event too, it’s going to be better than ever!!

You can use the second link above to buy general entry tickets (to pass on to your friends who aren’t a part of the club)

Gratuitous photo!

Don't think the club are doing a stand this year. I might go if not working

That's a pity, wander if I can see if Surrey will do one if not. Maybe not enough notice

A quick update, the event is next Saturday and Sunday.

As a car club member (we selected a number of clubs who have supported the event in the past) you still have the benefit of the special 'car club display' ticket offer (£10 per car per day or £15 for the weekend).

This entitles you to park nearer to the event than the public car park and is also heavily discounted entry as the ticket allows all occupants of the car (up to 4) to enter the event as opposed to the £10 per adult normal charge.

However these tickets are only available online in advance and will be withdrawn from sale early next week (likely to be Wednesday) so if you want to join in with the event we would urge you to buy them now.

It doesn't matter at this stage if the club does not have an official display as we understand they can be tough to organise so buying individually is perfectly fine with us, you don't even need to be there at 8.30 as in previous years.

That doesn't mean we're struggling for numbers, in fact we're currently looking at twice as many people as last year, it's just that we would like to make sure those who have supported us in previous years get the benefit of the special offer we set up.

The link for the car club tickets is...
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/...isplay+tickets

You can also buy ride tickets online using this link..
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/...+Event+Tickets

Don't buy the entry tickets from the second link, just the rides - use the first link for entry.
We're selling out pretty quickly in terms of rides so if you're coming then buy these in advance as well (especially given the massive increase in visitor numbers. this year)

We don't just have Supercar rides on offer this year we have the following attractions too;

Caterham Drift rides
Sporting Bears Rides
Helicopter flights
Hovercraft rides
Segway driving (lots of fun!)
Mini Tank driving
Fire Engine Rides
Stay Safe Driving School
Silverstone Young Drivers

As well as a host of live bands, lots of stands and stalls, food (themed catering!) kids attractions and lots more.

As in previous years, every penny goes directly to The Children's Trust so by attending or spreading the word you're helping a charity whilst having a lot of fun.

We have the normal mix of Supercars giving rides plus a few special ones as well ;

Pagani Zonda x2
Ferrari Enzo
Koenigsegg Agera
Lamborghini Aventador
McLaren Mp4 12C (Coupe and Spider)
Ferrari 458
Jaguar XK150 to name just a few

oh and the Peel 50 for a bit of fun
So if you've not bought your ticket yet what are you waiting for?

Thanks for posting Harsh, whilst we do not have a full club stand for this event this year, we do have some members who are interested - I'm sure they'll be pleased to read this.

No worries Steve, it seems to have come around rather swiftly this year plus the weather hasn't been conducive to getting people motivated.

That's why (even thought we're massively up on ticket sales) i wanted to make sure previous years supporters still had the benefit of the special deal

Guys - just so you know, The advance ticket sales will be closed tomorrow at Midday

car club display tickets will also be suspended and will NOT be available on the day so you would have to buy the full price entry tickets.

So if you're even thinking about coming along then you need to buy tickets now to save disappointment.

If the event sells out we will not admit people on the day without tickets

Advance rides have also sold out but we keep a few back to sell on the day
