Default SES Trackday @ Goodwood - Saturday 5th April - DATE CHANGED!

SES have once again, by invite only, been asked if we wish to attend a Trackday at Goodwood, scheduled for Saturday 5th April

The day will run from 8:00am until 5:00pm, with 3 sessions A.M and 3 sessions P.M, totalling 30 laps (as a minimum)

Price is £200 per entry.
As per previous events we can split amongst members, which ends up as £33.33 per session, which we will round down to £30.

I appreciate that this is a weekday so attendance may not be as high as a weekend, but if you are interested please add your names below :

Morning Session
1.
2.
3.

Afternoon Session
1.
2.
3.

We can fill more spaces if required, the above is just for 1 Track pass.

More details available here : https://www.facebook.com/events/1378965905692864/

For anyone thinking of doing their first track day, this would be a good one. It's an easy to learn track , really smooth and not crowded.

I'm very interested but the wagon is standard as far as normal brake fluid, discs and pads etc. The 8th just happens to be my birthday and I really can't think of a better pressie from me to me than a track day. Never done one, always wanted to. What would I need to do to prepare the car for something like this?

Fresh oil and brake fluid, check levels etc. Make sure brake pads have plenty of meat on them and do the job, + everything else is tip top, tyres have a little meat on them and so forth and and away you go
Take it steady and enjoy the experience

As long as your brakes etc are roadworthy and make sure fluid levels and tyre pressures are all good you'll be fine mate. You only need to really think about bigger brakes, different fluid etc if you are going to cane it lap after lap but if you plan to go out and have fun for a few laps you'll be fine on standard stuff

I'm now a definite. Can someone explain how the sessions work? Do you just do the one run and that's it or is it split into a couple of separate ones?

Just need to sort out what the little rattle is at the back now and I'll hopefully have my new wheels too!

For your £35 you get one session, which will be around 5 laps, maybe more. You go out once, at a time dependant on the session number we are allocated on the day and in the order you have selected above.

For example if you are No.1 above and we are allocated session group 3 (of a possible 6), you will go out approx. 30 mins after the morning sessions kick off.
If you are No. 2 above you will go out approx. 1Hr45 mins after the morning session kicks off.

If we end up with more then one session, due to further interest in taking part, we will end up with 2 groups and therefore more SES in sessions/rotation.

As this appears to be getting interest, can I ask that we make payments to SES via paypal to : payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk

Can you also please add your Reg number, make/model to the above list & also add if/when you have sent payment. I will then confirm receipt.

Do we need helmets? Yes you do and usually long sleeve top and trousers/jeans, not shorts.

Sorry lads, working away from home in the week so can't make this, great shame as I was looking forward to a Goodwood day.

Would have thought the sessions will be the usual 20 minutes, all of the previous ones I've seen have been. Guess it depends how quickly you're going as to how many laps you'll get in

UPDATE FROM ORGANISERS.....

The Track Day passes are supposed to be for 1 car, but they are aware of how we operate the multi-car setup and are happy for us to do that , but this year there is a minor limitation.

'ONLY' 3 cars are allowed per paid Track Day Pass.
Therefore you will be required to take as a minimum 2 Session's.

Taking this into account, and as this is a Charity event SES are prepared to use some of the SES funds to offset some of this additional costs.

To take part and to have 2 session will cost you £60, instead of £70. SES will donate the additional £10.

As a result of the above I have tried to re-arrange the attendee's list, but feel free to juggle it about to suite.

Morning Session (Track Pass 1)
1. Ginola - Confirmed 2 morning sessions please! (can't do afternoon - back to work)
2. SamSTI (Impreza STI YT06TZV) £70 payment sent
3. Ginola - Confirmed 2 morning sessions please! (can't do afternoon - back to work)

2. SamSTI (Impreza STI YT06TZV) £70 payment sent

A minimum of 30 laps, split into 6 sessions.
So minimum of 5 full laps per session, with 1 out lap and 1 in lap so I would expect it to be 7.

Quite happy to do one in the morning instead of both in the afternoon

Guys, we've had some news through about this event.

The track day will now take place on Saturday 5th April. We're sorry if you were planning on coming and now cannot make it due to other commitments, but this date change is out of our control. If you have paid and can no longer attend, please let us know asap and we will refund you via Paypal.

I have just been informed that the day will still be 105db noise limit (despite what the Goodwood diary says).

I have asked if there is space to have a 3rd track pass (allowing another 3 drivers to take part) and am waiting a response on this. As soon as I know i'll let you know - but I suggest we start a reserve list just in case.

If you can still attend, please send the £60 payment via Paypal to payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk ASAP - we will need to send the money over to the organisers within the next day or two. If you have already sent the original £70, don't worry - we'll refund the extra £10 back to you.

Right then, this is good news for me potentially, as I can make the Saturday, so can you put me down for the entire day (£200) . Once you confirm I can do it I will send my payment over.

cheers.

No worries with the date change! Will cancel the holiday at work. What happened?

Paid £70 earlier (don't mind putting in extra for a 3rd session if we can get one?)
