Turbo type

Hi guys
I need a new turbo, been trying to find a decent vf34/35 but with no joy, is the any others that will fit my car that is better than my stock one which I think is a tdo4, may make my search easier if I knew all types I can have fitted.

Theres alot to choose from vf23 fantasic wee turbo spools like mad with a punch , TD05 16,18,20g what ever turbo you go it will need mapped .

It's a good idea to plan what you want from the car and buy accordingly. Bare in mind what power figures you are wanting to achieve and importantly, what sort of torque characteristics you are after. Your stock turbo will spool faster then a VF35 from an Sti but wouldn't offer the same grunt or for as long. If it's something you are going to spend a fair bit of money on its best to get something with the characteristics you are after.

As Scotty said, anything non-standard will need mapping.

VF30/35 sleeve bearing. Both are pretty similar and good for 300-340 depending on supporting mods
VF22 is a touch larger as is the VF23 and good for 320-360 depending on supporting mods. The largest of the VF series but a touch laggy by VF standards
VF24/28/29 roller bearing. Faster spooling but otherwise similar to the VF30/35 for overall power capabilities.
VF43, a touch laggy on a 2.0 but can be pushed to 380BHP

Then there's the TD05 range, which come in 16G, 18G and 20G sizes with power ranging from 340 - 400BHP depending on which you go for.
Alot of aftermarket turbo's such as SC's and Blouche are also based on the TD05 design.

All of the above will fit, with the exception the 20G which will need a slight grind of the turbo bell housing to clear.

Thanks all, got a vf30 now, will have it fitted next week and add bits as I go as budget is getting tight, just had engine rebuilt few months back, car is standard at moment apart from air filter and full TSL exhaust and upgraded fuel pump, happy around the 300bhp mark but need to do few more bit to get there. Md series turbo are amongst the best standard fit turbos, especially the billet versions, T is good for 450bhp (or more) with fast spool.
