Default Maldives Pics

Last Night, I cracked on with some pics from a holiday from 18 months ago. Which I still have done nothing with.

Here are some of those pics, some you may have seen before.

Quality pics mate, I love the Maldives, no-where compares to it. We stayed on Sun Island in a water bungalow, those pictures bring back great memories!

Thanks mate. As you say, there is no where else like it. It is my goal now to go back again at some point in my life.

Like you say, just seeing the pictures bring back some fantastic memories.

Swimming before the reef is fine, just baby sharks and stingrays etc, go the other side of the reef and you will see big sharks, moray eels, rays, barracudas etc, snorkling and scuba diving there is one of the best places in the world. The Red Sea is also superb for diving/snorkling.

Spooky, I do like a holiday if and whenever possible

Cheers for the comments guys

Like Paul says, you cannot believe the stuff swimming inside the reefs (atols), but when you drop over the edge of the reef and into the open ocean, it is just spectacular. The sharks, rays, eels, barracuda, and every colourful and beautiful fish there are all around you. The sharks that were up to about 4ft inside the reef are now up to 9-10ft and everything else is scaled up too.

In the sunset pic below, the building you see on stilts, in pretty much the middle of the shot, is the Italian restaurant, every night you sit and watch schools of 10ft sharks swimming underneath you. And twice a week, they feed the sharks with the fish caught on the handlining trip they do. To watch 100 sharks scrapping over the fish is awesome.

We did the Maldives for our honeymoon as it is somewhere you may never go again and you will not have a better location, still the best holiday i have ever had, flew out in premium, had a sea plane transfer and we stayed in the water bunglows..........great, now i am looking on Lastminute.com

Fantastic pics Steve, and a very nice place, me and Shaz must get there very soon, we were thinking about Porto Rico next year but may just change that now.
