overboost /fuel cut.....
i had a problem with overboost a while ago @ 1.5bar so took the car to subaru gatwick they fitted a bit in the boost/sol tube and that sorted it down to 1.2bar. last week i found loose fitted "y" pipe and induction pipe so tightend all pipes and the boost went up to 1.4bar i then fitted a hks bov "sounds sweeeeet" but now when i boot it boost is just over 1.5bar was thinking about getting hks evc 4/5 rather than standard as i wanted to also upgrade to an apexi power fc ecu. any helpfull suggestions would be much appreciated its a sti v3, 6s ecu 311bhp

Re: overboost /fuel cut.....
Sounds like you have a leak somewhere or a sticky boost control solenoid.
Gatwick shouldn't of changed the restrictor without investigating as it's likley due to a fault/leak which the change in restrictor has masked. Are you still running OE boost control ?? The boost control pipes should be plumbed as per my post to CJ which I have copied below : Standard 2-port plumbing : turbo to T-piece (restrctor in pipe) T-piece to Actuator Bottom branch or T-piece to Boost Control Solenoid Then Boost conrol solenoid to inlet manifold (the little black elbow just to left of main induction hose). |

Re: overboost /fuel cut.....
standard boost should be around 1bar.
if it's running 1.5 it will probably be detonating and will defo be runin ff the end of the fuel/ignition map, which is not good. |
