Welcome fella, what BMW's have you had? Had a couple in the past myself, J reg 525i when I was 18 which I abused everytime I drove it and it never let me down loved that car! Also had an M reg 328i which was great to drive, just a shame for a 2.8 they didn't have a bit more power.

Welcome, the weak link on a WRX is the gearbox which limits you to around 350/380.

Basic stages are engine:
  1. Exhaust (de/sports cat) turbo back, de-cat up-pipe, fuel pump (225), air filter (K&N/Green/Cosworth), remap should see you at 270/80.
  2. Injectors (STI pinks) and turbo swap (VF34/35) Sti top mount, scoop and under tray should give you around 350/380

Suspension:
  1. White line arbs and droplinks
  2. Anti lift kit & Eibach springs
  3. KGB shocks (adjustable)
  4. Coilovers (BC or similar)

Brakes:
  1. Up rated disks and pads (AS Performance)
  2. Sti Brembos
  3. Ksports!

Welcome to SES

What are your plans for the car? Do you just want more power or interested in sorting the handling/brakes first for some track days? Once you've decided that, then there's plenty of options

The 5 spd wrx gearbox is generally ok up to around 350bhp max, 6 spds will take a lot more power but conversion can cost £1500-£2000.

In reality, i'd stick with the 5 spd for now, pushing beyond 350bhp with standard engine internals on a wrx is asking for trouble anyway imo. Most people seem to get to 320-330bhp reliably with injectors, fuel pump, decat exhaust, vf35 and remap.
