Good question, one I will be interested to see the answer for too

I know some people have sprayed them without too many issues.

Just spray it, will still chip from stuff on the road... So easier to just spray yourself and then give it a little touch up once in a while

There was a thread on scabbynet saying not to powder coat... But cant remember why

if you spray or powder coat you are reducing the effect of the intercooler, so i'd stay away from powder coating it and give it a light spray if you are after a look

You mean all of the IC ?

The main theory of an inter cooler is that the more surfaces (area) the air hits the cooler it becomes so in principle it should be okay although you see very few painted of high end cars.

Not sure if the heat involved in powder coating may distort anything ??

Paint may be better ??

Arn't the APS black finished ones powder coated?

IMO it would only reduce the efficiency slightly, be it painted or powder coated....
