The first time Ive driven the car in really horid weather...and I couldnt see a bloody thing, had to put my foggies on to help.

Rather than going down the HID route, as MOT testers are getting a little arsey about them, can anyobe suggest a uprated bulb? If that exsits?

Cool, thanks for that, going to try and pick some up on friday. In the mean time I might strap some candles to the front of the car.
Does the Blob eye suffer from the same problem, or did Subaru just expext everyone who got a Bugeye to just drive in the daylight?

Classics have piss poor lighting. Early classics are just as bad inside. Can only just see the needles on the speedo ect when lights are on in the dark

Don't think the standard bugeye WRX or STI lights are bad - i think its just the lenses in the prodrive lamps you've got. My morettes have exactly the same issue - the light is rubbish

HIDS are fantastic, you would never go back to bulbs. If installed and set up correctly shouldn't give you any MOT problems.

you got HIDs in your morettes?

i'm thinking about it but i saw a thread on the web where the HIDs were so hot they'd actually turned the front of the lens black where it had burnt from the heat in the centre....

Think that just depends on what brand you buy mine are ok now you just have to take your time when fitting them and make sure they are set up correctly if you just chuck them in then thats where you get the trouble like i had, they are all a universal set up so you have to have a good play with them. MOT safe if you get the 6000k ones and they are so good

Well after the trip home tonight, might try some HID's. I did get some Nightbreakers, worked very well, untill tonight. 1 has blown allready! Lasted a week. made the country lanes between Paddock Wood and Tunbride very interesting...

well after chatting to you about HIDs i was gonna order a set, but then one of my current bulbs blew yesterday on the way to work

so with setting off on a 750 mile round trip to RallyGB tomorrow, i had no choice but to spend more money on normal bulbs at Halfords

got their own brand 'extreme brilliance' bulbs (£25 each!) but at least they were on a BOGOF. So last night fitted both of those to my morettes and they seem to be better than whatever bulbs were in there before. still not as good as HIDs though!
