Default boost issue

Right I have a boost issue.. when put my foot down it boosts up then backs of then back on then backs off and so forth.

Its not hitting boost cut and when its backing on and off its smooth

Hope this makes sense

its like 1.5 bar then 1.2 then 1.5 bar.....

It could be numerous things starting with the bov,ecu,boost pipes,boost solenoid etc...but my wife had a similar problem and it turned out to be a wastegate actuator problem,sorry that I cant give you an exact answer but as you know boost problems can be very finicky to diagnose, but it is definitely along those lines that I have mentioned.SJ.

Iv just done genuine recirc valve, boost pipes, 3 port solenoid, recent remap,

I'm actually wondering if it is the actuator ?

We had this on the Forester and it turned out to be the solenoid - on part throttle I could feel a surging boost would build then back off again.

The problem can still be one of those things that you have recently done,you have to be systematic and double check everything,what model Impreza do you have?because another thing that just came into my mind is the restrictor pill as well.SJ.

it was mapped without a restrictor pill on vf34, I have the original td04 one but I'm guessing it maybe to small ?
