Default BOUGHT ANOTHER SCOOBY

Yes its another bug eye a 2002 uk Sti full prodrive ie bumpers side skirts rear spoiler wheels & suspention. This car has just been fitted with a 2.5 sti short block from Latterel motor sport, Rc head gaskets oil pump clutch and so on. Its only just been run in. I intend with the help of our mate Tone to exchange engine's with my silver bug eye. So at the end of this i will have a Prodrive Sti for sale. Pass the word around. It would be handy if i had a buyer in the background.

Has it been mapped for the 2.5 ?
If not you will need to reflash the standard map when you refit the motor

Can I borrow it for the Ring ??

Tweenierob of TR Racing. Ment to be a top engine builder in the Skyline world. Also mapped by him to a conservative 340bhp & 340ftlb while he run it in. No Scott the car wont be going anywere near the ring. The engine might be though

If i do sell it will be in order of interest just to keep things fair. Spec of short block is under 10k Sti Ej25 everything was taken apart and re-built with new ACL shell's & rings pistons & rods are standard. I have pic's from start to finish of this build. Daz Davies is a bit of a perfectionist so i know all will be spot on. He bought this engine direct from Subaru with a suspected bigend gone. Subaru replaced this with a brand new short block only to find the car was makeing the same noise. It turned ouy to be a t/belt tentioner that was at fault. I only want back [if i sell] what i paid so please dont pm me with offers.

Picked the black one up from Tun/ wells tonight. Very impresive power oe vf35 with the fresh 2.5 next to no lag 340bhp/ 340ftlb sudenly feels very quick. On the way back I was playing with a few switch's as you do and next thing i new i had flames 2/3ft long out of the bloody back box. Ha! Ha! little things and all that Car drives really well has the ds 2500 in it to, so it stops properly.

I hope i dont do either. Ive been useing the 2.5 for a couple of days now and love the way it pick's up from 1500 rpm @ 3500rpm it really try's to spin all four wheels. It run's out of steam @ 6000rpm were the silver one just keep's pulling. Put the two together i reckon the 2.5 would be gone to aprox 80mph Then the silver one would be all over it. Cant wait to combine the two.

Black STI in tommo for the start of my engine swop's. Quite nervous as it will still need to be mapped and time is short. I'm sure other hurdles will be put in my way like bit's ive forgot to order. Or other bit's trying to fall off.

Have just looked through the map we pulled out of the 2.5 this evening and it's not worth re-using in the silver one.
The map that is already in the silver one needs changing to suite the 3-port, fuelling for removal of sportcat, The timing isn't that far off a 2.5 map at similar engine load scales anyway, which is more luck then judgement, but gives us a goo dbase to work with.

I could pull a few more degree's out before we go out, but it is so close that I'd rather do it on the road with detacan and listen to whether I need to take any out of not, but it is currently within a few degree's.
Fuel map in the Black ECU was crude with block changes to AFR levels on what was otherwise a standard 2.0 STi map. It should not of been running at these AFR as too lean. All I can think is that it was mapped to these levels but was actually runing a fair bit richer to achieve ideal AFR due to lack of MAF re-scaling.

Anyway, always interesting to see someone elses map, but also makes me think I'm far to anal and need not be so precise.

Ive been away over the weekend so stoped by the garage to see if any work had been done. Black car was still as i left it Vince had been two busy. You would have to meet this man he's so laid back you can't get angry with him. I left and 2hours later he phoned me to come & pick the car up. Engine now out of the black one. Tell Vince he needs a longer arm on that engine hoist...it'll never reach the scoob from there....

And just unbolt the Engine in the Silver one and let the EVO cushion the impact.
