Default Private plate value

I'm not selling mine but I'm intrigued to find out how many of you out there have private plates and what they mean to you? Mine reads V5 SUB, obviously worth a lot more to someone who owns a version 5 scooby rather that the blob it's on, but it's apparently worth £1000 according to some websites. I want to know how people value these plates and if I did come to sell the blobeye (which I won't) then should I keep the plate or get rid with the car. Like I say I'm not selling it at all and not even thinking about it I'm just intrigued that's all.
But of a pointless post really but never mind

Only my opinion but it`s worth as much as someone is willing to pay which I know is not much use to answering your question.

I work with a colleague who`s known by the name Sub so would be worth a lot to her if plates were her thing? I think they are I nice finishing touch but personally would only buy if I was flush which is almost never

If I was selling the car then its another bargining tool with the price i.e. with/without plate £?

I personally dont get it when the plate has been spaced to read something its not which unlike yours makes it look worse imo? No offence intended for those who have?

And of course there is always the chance of a `pull`if its not right. not to mention anyone on here

I think most people think their plates are worth more than they are, I tend to pay under £300 per plate and get car specific ones which I will probably leave on the car when I sell as too much hassle for little gain. I have RR03TWO on my Golf R32 which I paid about £250 including transfer and I think I paid about £200 for S600BSX on my Scoob, not a great plate, but better than what was on there.

I had mine valued at 695 think the previous owner paid 395 for it.

It's only ever worth what someone will pay for it as Steve said

best advice is to purchase direct from DVLA - did some digging a while back and lots being advertised by third party companies were £200-300 more expensive than DVLA were and were not actually reserved......
