Default Jdm split rims

Mate has got a set of Early Jdm spilt rims that need refurnishing as tarnished abit, Once the tyres are removed can i undo the bolts ok just so they can be cleaned up or will this cause trouble??

it can be done as a mate just split some M5 BBS alloys then got thenm refurbed. The fact that he split and re-assembled them saved him quite a bit.
He was worried the bolts would shear but they all came out fine.

we wount want to spilt them its just when i paint them i dont want to paint over the bolts
