80% of my Wifes 2008 Ibiza was a PPI claim from Abbey National.
They dicked us around a lot with bank charges back in 2006 when we moved and switched accounts/mortgages. So I got my own back with a PPI claim 18 months ago. All I did was send a brief letter to head office stating I thought I had been miss sold PPI on our old mortgage with them (of 10 years). They sent a letter back apologising and that they would look into it. About 8-10 weeks later a letter arrived asking us where we wanted nigh on £6000 paid. Don't bother using any agencies. This cost me the price of a stamp and 20 minutes writing a letter. |

I used the ombudsman's standard claim document for my wife's claim. She had been bullied into policies before we met. If anyone needs the template I still have it electronically, so can e-mail it if it would help. Krade over on Surrey Scoobies bought his hatch STi with his PPI claims! |

I didn't go through any company just inquired through the bank and it's took 8 weeks and they are sending out a cheque for £3500 which is going towards my scooby to get body work fixed , alloys refurb and what Evers left I've said to the wife she can treat herself to a decent mountain bike as she wants one which is fair . So that will be the first claim spent .

I know full well I never took a policy as I always refused them, which often took a lot of arguing such was the malpractice in the marketplace at the time!

I've had PPI on a few credit cards and loans, but so long ago now I can't remember any of the details.
The last PPI was on a Sainsburys card. I actually cancelled the PPI 2 years ago, but it was on the card from the day I received it... which is at least 7 years ago now. I contacted a local solicitor to see if I could claim anything, but they basically said no as I chose to have the PPI, and the form they sent was loaded with questions. Not sure if its worth me contacting the lender direct? Any thoughts? J.

If you genuinely can't remember anything about the policies it will be difficult to say, hand on heart, that you think they were inappropriate for you.
However, that doesn't mean you weren't incorrectly sold them and the lender will take a view on that, so it probably is worth making contact... maybe keep your expectations low though. |

I got about £1.5k back all in, still feel robbed though. All the bad credit I got as a result of them essentially theiving off me will stick long in the throat!

I just sent off a tax form to a company that's called R.I.F.T who deal with the army to see if I can get a refund on tax as I pay for my own fuel to get to work and back I don't know how long I will have to wait for that one but its money back in my pocket if I get any .

Ordinary commuting does not qualify for mileage allowance relief, else every employed person could get tax relief. Do you live on a base? I wonder if the claim is based on your commute being between workplaces. Intriguing! |

Getting a wee phone tomorrow from R.I.F.T to let me know how much I'm getting for my fuel claim from September last year and of course the money is going into the car for more upgrade parts .
