Default New pads please

Its getting to that time when i need some new pads, mine are getting a little low. Question is, what do i need to go for?

Mines had its brakes uprated to newage four pots so what year and model impreza should i be quoting when i'm getting some?

Also, what'd be good for it? Its got yellow stuff all round which i think are quite frankly shocking until they warm up. Green stuff/black diamond? Whats good?

Hi nick, you should be quoting from 98-05 for your pads
I think most people go from either Ferodo's or EBC red stuff pads,
but personally I don't see anything wrong with Black Diamond Prediator's

EBC: I thought were crap when I tried them several years and wouldn't use them again.
Ferodo DS2500: A good all round pad for normal use with some hard driving / track.
Ferodo DS3000: Don't bother unless doing a lot of track days. A hard pad that takes a while to get up to temperature.
Mintex M1155: I found were poor, can't cope with hard use and crumbled when I changed them
Performance Friction Z compound: Great pads, I have them front and rear on my STi Brembo's.
Performance Friction .01 compound: Like DS3000, a track pad, use with care on the road.
Black Diamond: Never used them, probably never will.

My choice would be Ferodo DS2500, if you don't mind spending a little more go for PF Z pads.
