Default 'X' Plate Classic - Rise of the Silver Surfer

As some of you know I have had this car for several years (8 years in fact), and sold it back in April 2011.
Having now re-purchased the car to keep as a 2nd vehicle I thought I would run through it's history and add further info as it develops.

As purchased, totally standard 'X' plate UK Spec (Dutch Import).
3 years old with 15,600miles on the clock :

Another set of ST2's but this time in Gold
They didn't last long as didn't like the Silver/Gold mix

Compomotive MO's, these didn't last long due to a poor refurb by Spit'N'Polish.
I wasn't happy with the finish, so sold them to Anger (some peoples standards are lower )

Was trying to get a wheel with better caliper clearance due to a pending 2nd Brake upgrade.

Next set of wheels that would give better caliper clearances

Prodrive P-FF7's 8x18 ET51 (a tight fit on a Classic)

Due to a split Turbo hose, took the oppurtunity to paint the inlet manifold, as it had to come off to replace the hose.

A few more polished goodies appeared over time, along with a Fuelab Fuel Pressure Regulator.
By this time the car is running a VF28 Turbo / Apexi ECU with the Injectors max'd.

A large number of the standard fixings being replaced with stainless and a bit of powder coat on header tank and various brackets.

Apexi Power Intake fitted (custom cold intake & heatshield):
This released approx 30BHP over the standard Airbox (running a Green Filter). Car lept from 305BHP to 335BHP, once I'd adjusted the map to run with the Apexi Intake

The guy that purchased it from me managed to spin up No.3 big end within a few weeks and also buckled 2 alloys.
Thankfully this then took it off the road for about 5 months.
The rebuild used :

STi Version 8 Conrods
STi Version 9 Nitrided Crankshaft
ACL Race Main & Big End Bearings
Modine oil cooler
New MY99 MAF
New NGKPFR7B Spark Plugs
All new Gaskets and Seals used
Cambelt and all idlers, tensioners replaced with kit supplied by Lateral Performance during rebuild.
New Exedy pink uprated clutch fitted & lightened flywheel when Engine was out.
Invoice for all parts from Lateral Performance available
Invoice from Tim Farmer for Labour available

Also fitted are STi pedals and Mats

RR plots from Clive Athowe after re-build on running in map at 224BHP and post run-in at 330BHP.
It was recorded at 335BHP in my ownership, so still performing well.

The replacment alloys are quite kerbed, so they will get a refurb at some point soon.

The car then sold soon after rebuild and has spent the rest of the time with a real car enthusiast who has many cars, inc a Cosworth RS500.
Mine was just one of his collection, Hence it has done very little miles since leaving me 18 months ago.

IIRC it was a Prodrive Backbox.
It was a bit of a strange experience asking to see the manager of the Grand and waiting in the rather plush Hotel Bar, only to then meet Joni and stroll out with an exhaust pipe.

Well that pretty much covers where I am today, although it will take a touch of effort to get it back to where it was in 2009/2010. Not too much though........and really looking forward to spending a bit more time on it.

Don't worry the Prodrive PFF7's won't be going far....well only as far as Lepsons for a refurb.
The tyres are shot and the wheels are scuffed up and I can't afford to do both at the moment.
The Altec's came up for a good price and include nearly new tyres, so foolish to turn them down. They are also a wheel I've looked at before, so would like to see how they look.
