Default window/door trim removal

the bit of trim on the outside of the car at the back of the rear door glass on a classic, how do you remove it?
I opulled at the back edge where it meets the bodywork and I can see there's a clip which popps out, but the window edge of the trim doesn't want to pull or slide off. anyone removed it before?
I need to take it off to paint it

I have. The trim is one piece, front to back. You have to remove the rubber as the trim is fixed by Philip screws, and on c post clips as well,
