Default Clonking when reversing

Another thread much like paulbakerstis' thread.

My MY99 turbo is making a clonk clonk clonk noise when reverse turning. Only does it if i've had a bit of a drive, say 15mins. Its coming from around the passenger front (i think) and sounds like it's causing the wheel to drag a little.

I've noticed that over the last few months i've developed a bit of wheel wobble when braking and i've been told that my discs are a bit warped, i've just not done anything about it as its never really bothered me. Now it seems to have got a little worse.

If my brakes were quite warped and probably more prominant when hot as the metal expands, is it possible that my brake pads are digging into the grooves of the discs and causing said clonky noises?

Or is my gearbox/diff/something expensive on its way out?

the clonk is most likely caused by a sticky pad/caliper and when you turn the wheel you put more pressure on it................

this may also be the cause of your "wobble", suggest you strip and check the calipers asap

"suggest you strip and check the calipers "

You want me to check the calipers in the nude? ha ha!

Sound advice, the caliper on that side was sticky when i bought the car and got it sorted by a mechanic mate. Maybe i should drop in and see him again. Actually, maybe i should look into getting myself some new front brakes. Cheers asperformance. will get it done!

*Don't suppose you do any brake sets do you? Just had a goosie at your site and it says 'coming soon' under the brakes section.
