Default quick question to previous ring attendees

Real quick one guys to purchase laps do you need to show both parts of your driving licence?

Nope, just hand over the cash and away you go, nothing is checked. I'd advise taking both parts in case you get pulled along the way. Licence, insurance, MOT and registration document are legal requirement in France I think and you must carry all paperwork with you at all times in Germany.

Nothing is checked at the Ring unless you have an incident of some kind. Make sure you have all your documents in the car though, just in case you are stopped somewhere like Shane says.

This list has worked well for us for the last few years:

The Check List FOR THE CAR

1: Spare Bulb Kit
2: Warning Triangle
3: Hi Visibility Vests (1 for each person in car)
4: Headlight Beam Deflectors (see link below)
5: Fire Extinguisher
6: First Aid Kit

7: Octane Booster (personal choice)
8: Oil (optional but advised)
9: GB Sticker (if you dont have GB on your number plate)
10:Spare Key
11: Sat Nav (with European Data)
12: Crash Helmet (not compulsory)
13: European Insurance & Breakdown Cover (make sure it covers repatriation, just in case)
14: Track insurance (those insured with Keith Micheals, call Moley)
15: Driving License (including Paper Part)
16: Locking wheel nut tool
17: Tyre pressure gauge
18: Breathalyser kit

PERSONAL ITEMS
1: PASSPORT !!
2: Euro Tunnel confirmation e-mail with booking reference.
3: E 111 (optional additional health insurance)
4: Euro's and debit / credit cards (inform bank that you are away for safety)
5: Mobile Phone & Charger
6: Headache Tablets (trust me)
7: European Plug Adaptor
8: Walkie talkies ? (I will be bring the same 3 or more if I can acquire some)
9: Big bag of cash. Euros.

If you have a European Sat Nav it's a piece of cake, mine was spot on.

As E says, there aren't many cameras but there are some in Belgium. They are typically grey and hard to spot in the central reservation, rather than bright yellow and at the side of the road like ours.

Have a good trip and take it easy if its your first time

On Sunday morning watch out for damp patches under the trees...

Otherwise there will be damp patches elsewhere...

You will have a great time, enjoy the autobahns.

What Big E said, +1
Take it easy over the dark bits under the tree's first thing can still be slippery/wet when it looks dry everywhere else. drive it at your own pace and enjoy yourself treat it like a brisk Sunday morning drive, and watch those mirrors

What you meant is that we all all law abiding courteous drivers, that drive at the correct speed so we would not have received any tickets..
