New one on me
bought the misses a little vw polo gti after alot of looking!! only downside being that there isnt any history of cam belt change.. not that this is a problem, any how went to the auto data book to check procedure and times, and fook me there isnt a interval for changing these, just according to manafacturer" inspect after 60,000 miles " visualy, then if your happy again after another 20,000 and so on....
correct me if im wrong but the only real way of seing how shagged the belt and idler, tensioner was, is, after removing it and turning it inside out... you cant tell me that a after visual inspection you can say how long it will last. oh and a common fault on these is cambelt failure.... well i bloody never!! after my 12 years as a mechanic iv never come across this before..anyone else??

Thats not all that unusual on older VW's just give the dealer a call they have to tell you if its due at a specific age/milage but i think its around 40,000miles on those.
